The best way, which I learned, was either hand sand or use an orbital to knock the finish off then either use the orbital or a stripping agent to take the stain or paint off.

Sanding is the most difficult part of refinishing the doors. If they could do it themself, them finishing the rest would be not big deal either.

Sand- aconditioner-stain-wipe-get you fravorite color tone- let it dry -Apply Clear Coat

@@downbear basically, sand the wood, add a conditioner, stain, wipe. Repeat that until you get the color you want then put a clear coat to seal it

Ooo-k .. apparently you know nothing about refinishing... 9 minute video and all you got sanded was the bottom rail. I like and use Minwax products but poly shades is an absolute no-no

do you have to use lacquer thinner or would the palm sander work instead?

I would recommend both. Use the thinner first with some 00 "steel wool" scrubbing pads and it will work faster than a tshirt, then sand it down once all the thinner and goo is gone

Aren't supposed to clean BEFORE sanding? Too much sanding.

you are showing a child how to work with chemicals! take the time to put on the proper ppe. 2nd they have stain removers that would speed up the process also a finish sander would help alot. this video is the blind leading the blind.
