Thank you for the great ideas for a 1st year Texas pool owner🎉

Great job.👍 Tip: if your pillow popped that's great. It taking the pressure off the pool walls when the ice forms. Also don't blow the pillow all the way only about 60% so it can expand and contract.

I love your videos. I'm going to try to build the deck. I'm a little heavy set, and I don't trust the ladder that came with the pool.

The deck was the best thing I ever add, I love it

New here, Awesome set up, the deck 💯 😎🤩Great video 👏🏽 Ive never tried the ball, at my age find it easier here in zone5 just to close it in late October when it’s super clear. Way to cold for anything to grow in there. Opens really clear every year. Plus I get like an extra month or so just to sit & relax back there with nobody splashing around & No maintenance 🥹😇keep up the Great work👍🏽

Thank you so much, I took a peek the other day it does not look like the ball did very well. Thankfully, I have a really good water well and I’ll just drain and refill instead of trying to filter out all the algae.

Hi I have a pool just like your now and I've never winterized a pool before. That saying did you use a tube for sledding or just a regular pool circle tube? I'm so nervous I'm going to mess this up. Also I like you PVC connections, I may have to do that next year. Thank you so much for this video, you made it so simple to understand and to SEE it being done. Why people do verbal videos is beyond me. I want to see as I am a very visual person. TY again! You're the best!

I’m now using a pool pillow which I love. I’ll be making a new video in about 2 weeks on how I’m going to close it this season. And thank you for the kind words

Thanks for posting! We're in Michigan and have a 12x24x52 Intex. We've had the pool for 2 years, this would be the 3rd winter. I empty mine just below the outlets and, at times, the pool freezes to a solid block. Have you experienced this? Just wondering what the life span of the pool is under the freezing winter conditions. Thanks in advance!

These pools are great I’ve had mine for 5 full years now and it freezes every winter .

I had the regular ultraframe up for 7 Illinois winters, by doing the same procedure of draining halfway to below outlets and covering. Ironically it was spring storm the did it in. Had drained to clean liner and level a couple legs had settled. Wind got it as it was refilling.

What part of Texas do you live in sir? I am in central Texas area and debating on what I should do with my pool this winter. We get a few freezes, but not many and worried about algae if I cover and take out the pump. Does a winter ball prevent that?
@LifeLessOrdinaryАй бұрын
I’m not far from Abilene and I keep my pool up, but I cover it and close it every year. I just did a new video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ_MfJVvfauUrJIsi=HEvpzhcgZKhXZYTU

This is our first year with the above ground pool. We got it about April of 2022. For the winter I did not turn off the pump (i read some comments that said don't turn of pump) or remove any of the pipes (didn't know i was suppose to.) I did cover it and put that liquid ball in there. I'm excited to uncover and get it ready. My water is not clear. It's actually very dark, almost black. That ball did nothing for my pool.

Yep I’m having the same problem with the ball. This was the first and last season I will use it. Thankfully I have a water well so I’m going to drain and clean it before refill.

So I have watched a few videos on this topic and I am wondering, as I live in Germany and the temperature reaches -15c or 5f in the winter where I live would this still work for me or is it too risky ? I am not sure what temperatures you or other people have had in winter for a above ground pool any advice would be appreciated ?
@LifeLessOrdinary Жыл бұрын
Great question. Where we live we have been thought below zero Fahrenheit temperatures for more then a day at a time. So yes ever never had any issues with dealing with extreme cold temps. Hope that helps
@duane7032 Жыл бұрын
@@LifeLessOrdinary OK great thanks for quick reply, It gives me a little bit more confidence to give this a try as the 5f temperature is like on the most extreme days generally the average low temperature in winter here is around 26f, I will leave some feed back if it survives the winter next year, The Intex pool I have purchased looks like the one in your video same color except its the 4,88m 16ft a little smaller
@LifeLessOrdinary Жыл бұрын
I’m sure you will do just fine. We have very similar winter temperatures. Check out the other pool videos, I have lots of different things I’ve added to the pool. I am uncovering it this Friday to start the opening process. From what I can see the winter pill I used did not do very good. I have a lot of cleanup to do.

How low do drain the water before doing all these steps?
@LifeLessOrdinary14 күн бұрын
Personally I drop it just below my skimmer box

@ what if you just have the two original outflow screens, same level? Also, thanks for all the videos you post! They are really helpful!! Looking forward to pvc pluming in our pool for next season. You have so many great tips and ideas. Keep up the great work!

Texas and winter in the title helps like 5% of the people who are searching for ways to keep their intex pools alive. You live in Texas, even north, its not "winterizing". "Winter" pool closing is closing the pool in a way that it will survive multiple feet of snow sitting on it for months...
@LifeLessOrdinaryАй бұрын
If someone has a intex pool and lives in a location that gets “Multiple Feet” of snow they are taking that pool down and storing it. My part of Texas can have Multiple days of below freezing temps in the winter. Thank you for your comment 👍🏼
