I had to subscribe to get the clip links. I hope those are the right ones. I ordered the clips. My cover always falls off and in the pool every year.

Very interesting video. I have been wondering if it was possible to keep the pool up during winter. Would love to have seen the first reveal when you open it back up in the Spring. Thanks for posting 👍

Question - don't the plunger valves get damaged by the freezing and thawing over the winter?

Nice work, but: That chlorine floater may be crushed by the ice. Also you don’t need new sand every year. Sand lasts 5 years or so. :-) Lastly you want the cover on the water after coming off the winter pillow The surface tension of the water to keeps the cover from getting caught by the wind. Otherwise I love your install and those clips are great! I would put the cable on the outside of the long runs, not the short runs. Again - wind.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll definitely be including some of these when closing my pool again this year.

been watching your pool videos and just wanted to say thank you lol makes it nice and easy will you be doing a pool opening up/setting up after winter ready for summer ?

My most recent setup was when I installed this same filter. I also have a pool chemical video from my initial pool setup video, though I haven’t made a specific “spring opening” type of video. Intex Sand Filter Pump Complete Setup and Review kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGrEpZijf7igkNk

Great video. I been tearing down my fitmax pool for the winter. Now I am old. Not doing set uo again. I thought keeping ph right would keep algae from growing?

I was told to drain below both outlets, and remove my plunger valves, for winter, because other people had theirs freeze and crack! Mine is an 18 x 48, so I’ve been doing that, out of fear of them cracking. My small intex blowup pool that I use to have, It came with plugs, , I never drained it, just removed the hoses, and put the pump away, i did that for at least 6 years with it, now I have this bigger one. (Grandkids got bigger) there are no plugs , so I lower the water?? It’s what I was told?
@Type5Reviews Жыл бұрын
You could drain below the valve and remove them if you are afraid they’ll crack. You’ll just have more water to drain off the cover in the spring. To me a pair of plunger valves are about $13 on Amazon and I’d rather have less water to drain off the top in the spring then deal with replacing the parts later on the small chance they do crack.

Any problems with the water in the plunger valve freezing and then cracking the valve?
@mariemonaco66352 ай бұрын
The pillow does a better job and will last longer if you don't inflate it all the way, maybe only 2/3 way inflated.

Hello. What size is your pool? I have a 15 by 48 what size cover would you recommend?
@lindarivera1966 Жыл бұрын
How low did you drain the pool. We get heavy snow here so the lack might be good I’m guessing. First time leaving mine up. I’m in chicago.

Since I put valves on the inlets and outlets and can close those holes I kept my pool full with about 1 square on the liner showing. And the clips really aren’t necessary. Just leave a bit of slack in the top cover so that any snow or water that collects won’t stretch the cover to the point of tearing, then you can use a hose to siphon off the water from the top of the cover in the spring. I’m in northwest Indiana near Chicago and left mine up all last winter with no issues.

So the plunger valves did not freeze and crack? I just put the black stoppers in my 2 inlets, I am worrying about the discharge plunger/aerator freezing and cracking in WNY.
@Type5Reviews Жыл бұрын
There is always the possibility that the plunger valves could crack. You could take them off and use the black stoppers if you’d like. I’m leaving mine on and then if they are cracked in the spring I’ll pick up 2 new ones on Amazon for $10 each. amzn.to/3QrmFEx

Please please please tell me what connectors you use to make your pool vac work? I have a skimmer like yours but the only way to connect the vac hose it to just use suction. Problem is, when it gets clogged with leaves I have to pull it out to remove debris which causes a mess. I want to hook it directly to the outlet but vac hose is the same size so can’t connect them. I’m tired of rigging things that only half work.

Did you just add your mulch right over the foam board ? I’m debating how to do this. We did the foam board like you did with pavers level to the foam board. I want to add rock or something around the pool but don’t want to remove the foam between each leg. Did you cut more foam out or just lay it on top and then around the legs ?
@Type5Reviews7 ай бұрын
I just covered everything with mulch.

Your Snap clips. You sure they are for 1/2 PVC pipe? That seems a little small for an intex pool frame.
