something you wouldn't do is to wrap the rope around your hand, because if the rope gets stuck on your primary, your arm will be as bendable as a spaghetti after it's finnished with your arm.

That's right. The spark plug wrench is what Bombardier used to advise....run the rope right through the core and tie a loop.

Help needed ! I got myself a Yamaha 700 SX 1997 The rip cord recoils but there wasnt any tention to the flywheel to start the engine. I was out on the trails riding through a lot of powder. After an hour or more of riding I stoped for a quick break and when I went to start up again the cord didn't have any give. It just loosely pulled out and recoiled back In. Just looking for help with my situation. Couldn't find much help on forums. Thank you !

should also mention you SHOULD NOT wrap your fingers around the rope incase it dont come free,use the wrench or something as a T-handle

Good tip Joe! We would be wary of using a hardened object as a handle though, in case it gets sucked in and damages the sheaves. Better that than your fingers though! Cheers!
