i replaced my Battery yesterday on my 2008 Audi A6 it was a Varta 110AH and it was still the ORIGINAL 14 years old !!! i bought a 90AH instead of the 110AH but i guess its good enough. I let the engine run while switching over the battery, so i didn't had to do any "re-programming"

well, your car was programmed with 110AH and you installed smaller.. in short period might be ok.. but in longer term car might try to overcharge your battery - which means it will kill your battery faster. Strongly recommended to code new battery parameters.

so what should i do ?? disconnect the battery to re-set ecu ? i had the car running because i didnt want to lose all my settings (satnav, radio etc)

do not need to disconnect just make sure it's fully charged and then follow this video (need VCDS)

Nice video 👍 I've got an Audi A8 2012 and just ordered a same spec varta for half the price of the genuine Audi one 🙃 do I need to keep the bem code from my genuine one for it to work in coding? Also do I need to have engine on or just ignition? Do i need to have a battery charger connected if only ignition on? Thank you

i would code it anyway just to let the car battery module that is new fully charged battery. If you have battery charger always is good to connect it when doing codings :) just in case.

@@Carsienet battery coded from 19 can gateway, it was a bit different then yours, i had battery power, manufacturer and serial number, that's all it asked me for. But on my new varta battery it had a sticker saying something about compatible with battery management systems or smth along those lones. I punched it in full lentght code when clicked ok it auto shortened it and saved. 🤷‍♂️👍

@@Carsienet straight away in my first trip out with the car other systems came to life ie. side mirror lowering when in reverse, start/stop function, sunroof no longer playing up, headlight system problem dissappeared.. 😅

there can be a lot of possibilities.. I would start to check by pulling off single fuses and checking if it still drain battery.. in Audi A8 can be MMI, amplifier, etc..

Mam a6 c6 2.0 tdi bez start stop. Miałem ori aku varty 92ah agm 850 a ale mi padł... Założyłem aku varty 95ah 800a bez agm. Podałbym mi dane które wpisać w vcds żeby było ok? Dodam że po miesiącu użytkowania spadła mi pojemność aku do 50%. Szkoda mi nowego aku...

Hi. How to figure out is the battery AMG? I have installed Mbat 100 Ah and 750 A. No maintenance needed. But no info about AMG or not

Hmm. So you are pasting the battery part number as the battery serial number?

no, it must be on this scheme: Battery part number Battery Vendor Battery Serial Number for example for 110Ah Varta: 8K0915105F VA0 000915105AK if you car doesn't have battery regulation module. If your car have battery regulation module the you need put product number in product number field, same for serial number, and select vendor from list. I hope you'll understand :)

@@Carsienet I do understand. My battery BEM Code : 000915105DLVAO3480550TA. So the the break down of the code for VCDS is Battery Part num : 000915105DL Battery Vendor : VAO Battery Serial Number : 3480550TA However, it appears that the battery serial number can be another value other than a true battery serial. Good to know.
