I built a frame from a 4" X 4" X 15" post. I drilled two 1" holes 1 1/2" from the end (12" centers) and cut 2, 1" dowels, 20" long and inserted them 3" into the 1" holes. That left me 2 dowels 17" long to wrap the rope or Christmas lights, or whatever I am coiling. I use the same wrapping hitch described in the video to hold the coil together. When done, just slide it off. After the first 3 or 4 wraps I slide the coils up the dowels about 1" to leave space to put my fingers under to pull it off. You have to slide it off the frame to do the final half hitch that holds the wrap tightly. You can figure 8 or just wrap around the dowels, both ways work fine. With Christmas lights I use a figure 8 coil and wrap the last foot around the middle and plug them ends together. It works fine for up to 50' of rope, but you could make a larger one for longer ropes. Wrapping a rope without a figure 8 and doing it neatly will allow you to throw the rope without tangling it.

Понравился узел, попробовал завязать, оказалось, я его знаю и применяю, но с одним оборотом вокруг коренного конца. Встречал его под названием - усиленный коровий узел, или бычий узел. Хорошо держит, хорошо развязывается👍 liked the knot, tried to tie it, it turned out that I know it and use it, but with one turn around the root end. I met it under the name - reinforced cow knot, or bull knot. Holds well, unties well🤠

If it's a long rope it will get twisted . For a small rope especially if you run your hand to the end of the rope each time it's perfect!

How can you make a “how to coil a rope” video without first addressing the rope construction? It’s not possible because the construction of the rope determines the proper way to coil the rope. If you coil a braided rope like in the method shown. You have introduced a twist per coil. This basically renders the rope unworkable until those twist are removed. It’s best to not make a how to video if you yourself do not know how to.

Жил в деревне .Веревки, вожжи обычно длинные ( хороша веревка длинная, а речь - короткая).Если сматыватать ,как показано... Верёвка берётся за два конца и витками сматывается в бухту ,затем берется любой виток и обматывается за один край и всё.
