Photoshop: select bucket tool and color ---> click on the image ---> done. Illustrator: select triangle, then circle, then get married and make 4 kids, then spin around 3 times, jump 4 times, make a dive in a swimming pool. and now replace the image with another and voila. Color changed...

Don't worry. The next update will allow you to write your own code to color each individual pixel of your drawing. No GUI either, just the command line interface that tells you what your drawing is suppose to look like :)

its like an easier version of photoshop with a part of its features mostly dedicated to typography, digital painting and such. if you're having a hard time with illustrator I'd suggest staying away from PS

@@vsr3276 there are several options. The first is do the same as the tutorial and then try to change the color of big areas to see if it change the color of an unwanted part. This give you a hint of where there is the breach so you can close it. Other option is change your view to Outline (Ctrl + Y) and scan over the hole line art to look for disconnected lines. You can undo some steps to correct the mistakes or use the Blob Brush tool (Shift + B) with the same color of the EXPANDED line art to close it. Another option is paint an area with the Blob Brush tool (which paint directly as a vector) just drawing a connected line, selecting the internal line of the shape by Direct Selection Tool (A) and deleting it. Great tutorial but 'expand appearance' isn't clickable under the object menu. I have drawn my shape in the pen tool, I don't know if colouring with the pen tool object needs another process?

I did Object---> Flatten Transparency. From there I did the steps from the 2:30 timestamp. Hope that helps.

The Photoshop "clip layer" is really just a "clipping mask" in Illustrator and doesn't require layers. Just select the two objects, From the Object Menu, go down to Clipping Mask - Make. The bottom object will go inside the top object. To do it more quickly just select the two objects and choose Command 7, or Control 7 on a PC.

This is done with one sheet with nothing else done, so this hardly applies to anything unless you are just fooling around. give us an example of other things done previously. You can't seem to expand appearance work done with the pen either so you have to goof off with some pencil or something first.

I have a drawing I created. When I go to export as .png, I notice I have sections in the drawing not filled in with color. I can't seem to fill them in. I had the same problem, it’s because your line work is not all closed off. Go back and magnify the line to find gaps and fill them in. Hope this helps!
