My hair was a shade of lightest neutral blonde. It then was colored 5 and 6 mixed with leaving my shade of blonde in as highlights it came out very dark brown as alot of brown. I used color remover now it is orange with blonde highlight I like the blonde but want the reddish orange out.

The Life Of Hair he has white hair only in the front half of the head i too have this problem i m 27 i have grey hair in only front half of my head. Any ways when ever i color her hair even with dark color Like 4 that is dark brown igora some of her white hair dont pickup the color at all then i wanted to change her hair color to a lighter shade i bleached it the way you adviced me before well i m not a pro so it turned out a bit blotchy and because of I guess mixed white , previously dyed and naturally black hair . I applied color on her that was a bit copper it was too light for her so now i dyed her hair with a darker color 4.5 of igora that but her hair didnt pickup that color also properly few spots on her hair a very dark few are light .

DrJaya VD So probably the best advice I can give you if you’re struggling to get my hair coverage is to allow the product to process 5mins longer than you would normally this usually sort the problem out sometime change the developer to to 10 volume this can also help 😁👍🏻

How do you neutralize if you want to colour/tone East-Asian hair that has different undertone levels to a cool light brown? Red-Orange/Orange/Orange-Yellow, so you need a BGr/B/BV? All three mixed together? Or is the only solution to lift to a uniform level? But how do you lift to a uniform level when some of the strands are already lighter than others?
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
So whether it’s East Asian European or whatever geographical location in the world all the rules apply the same hair will either lift to red orange or yellow depending on the level of left. So if you have red present then you need green. If you have read orange you need green and blue. If you have just orange he just need blue. If you have yellow orange you need blue and violet or if you have orange yellow mini valet and blue. And if you just have yellow he just need violet. Not to answer your question about what about different colour strands on the same head well the problem Nikki will have there is that you will need to choose what the dominant colour is for instance if you’re tryingEliminate warmth then you need to go down to the darkest colour for instance if you’ve got a mixture of yellow and Orange tones and you want a neutral end result unfortunately the yellow tones you will have to sacrifice for instance then you would need BV the blue would deal with the orange and we would deal with the yellow without turning it all green!! Hope that makes sense Best James
@lianemilani88214 жыл бұрын
The Life Of Hair Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, it makes sense but what about the proportions, just a ready made tube of for example Inoa 6BV or do you mix the blue/violet yourself by using two toners, one blue based and one violet in equal or non equal parts? And could you even mix one tube of green based and one tube of blue/violet based?
@hopeamaryah16352 жыл бұрын
Something I tried to ask my teacher today is how do I correct a yellow-orange with a blue-violet? Shouldn't it technically be a violet-blue if we have more yellow than orange? Or will violet-blue/blue-violet labels be less important with the proportions of blue and violet as dominant just shift as needed depending on level? How do I pick one background over another? P.S. since watching the video I understand that you were saying you need an intermediate x.5 level. How would you formulate that? Lots of questions, but I definitely learned from your video. Thank you!!
@TheLifeOfHair2 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the question hope so if you’re tackling yellow orange then you would need violet blue if the dominant colour is orange then you would need blue violet. And the way that you would formulate for half a shade for example is if you needed let’s say 8.5 you would mix nine and 8 to get her to get to the correct formula

your videos are so useful!! I did the pony balayage in your other video and then toned it with a blue dye mixed with conditioner, I used the comb technique (from another of your videos) to fade it at the bottom where the hair is lighter so it won't go green and surprisingly it worked! Do you have any extra tips for toning down faded hair that gets brassier towards the dark side 🌓?
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
Superb glad it went well for you and you managed to cut your hair as he wanted it perfect! As far as do I have any tips for toning down faded hair that gets brassy towards the dark side could you just explain what the Darkside means as I’m not sure about the meaning best James
@el--le4 жыл бұрын
@@TheLifeOfHair Hi James thanks for the reply! I mean the balayage/ombre fades so the hair is gradually brassier, the top is more orangey (the infamous dark side:)) and the bottom more yellowish, are there ways to fix that? I tried twice but once I got the bottom too toned and once the top too brassy. 🤷♀️

I'm thinking of making my highlights blue. Silly but with lockdown I fancy a change. But I don't want it to stain my blonde to the point that I can't get the blonde back. Do you think if I do a washed out blue direct dye (as in I put conditioner into it) it'll be ok? Or should I go with a Demi and peroxide mix? My highlights are pale blonde and some a bit more like level 9. Thanks for any advice 🤗 I want a kind of denim teal
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
I can’t guarantee that it won’t stay in your highlights unfortunately so as far as saying what’s the best thing to do here well you could definitely turn your highlights a nice denim material but you will need to wait an incredibly long time potentially for it to fade out if you try and bullshit it could go very green lots of problems involved with going over highlights specifically with crazy colours I’m not saying don’t do it I’m just saying these are the pitfalls you might have to be very patient to get rid of it
@hobuspobus4 жыл бұрын
The Life Of Hair thanks mate I just did it 🙈 I decided to use a direct dye (fudge turquoise days mixed with a clairol colour crave in indigo and a tube of Scott Cornwall chrome conditioner) It turned out a bit greener than I'd hoped but it is denim. However the trouble with direct dye is that you're at the mercy of your hairs condition. It's not super patchy (and anyway that would go with the denim effect) but the ends which were porous did grab it even though it was only left in half an hour. I should have used developer to get a more toned down result as this does look a bit "crazy colour" rather than a greyish denim. I bought 9.11, 2.1 and clear and was going to mix those. I've heard that if you use clear with developer it removes crazy colour? Is that not true? 😖 I feel quite stupid now but I'll see what it looks like in the morning...

Great videos! It's 2 am here now, I just couldn't stop watching it.. I'm not a hair stylist and I'm trying to figure out all this stuff about colouring because last time I went to a hair salon, It didn't quite turn out as I wanted it so now I'm afraid of going to the same place again (even though the other girl from the same salon did a pretty good job a few years back, but now I don't know how to ask for her again without offending the one who did my hair last time - when I didn't like it) and I'm also afraid to try a different salon because how do I know they're going to get it right....any advice?

Finally some one put my frustration into words that cleared things up.. I'm just some one doing my own hair for years now. At one time I decided to go brown from blond and I totally overdid the warmth factor.. orange and red.. after a few washes they really came out.. well today I'm blond and just managed to tone yellow down but realizing I need a little bit more purple with the ash next time for the darker yellow or slight yellow orange still in it, to get a more of a beige result. Thank you ! for sharing your knowledge!!

I am naturally medium ash blonde after highlighting it came out too yellow so I tried to cover with a blue based 8 ash ... good thing I did strand test ... it turned copper coloured.... used 10 dev Tried another strand test using 20 dev... same thing copper ... what am I doing wrong? Maybe try 7 ash?
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
It’s because of the peroxide that you have chosen will lift the hair you need something under 10 volume so something like 6 vol wouldn’t lift the hair Also make sure that the level eight is a violent based tone rather than an ash based tone Ash could send it a bit greenish and the very yellow pieces and if you Have a yellow lift then I would definitely stayed towards going with a level nine for the level so here is the formulation without being able to see your hair this is the big caveat here I’m giving you this advice based on the information that you’ve given me I would go with a semipermanent level nine with a violet tone 👍🏻
@jocelyngail41964 жыл бұрын
