One of the best color grading tutorials I’ve seen! I use many of these tools, but never understood much of how to get them to work well together. Loved the channels, RGB, levels trick for highlights. Way better than a new layer on soft light and painting white over highlights. Looks much more natural.

Learned something new today. Hopefully i can also apply this method for editorial portraits! Some Photographers/Retouchers wont share some of these methods but you did. Thank you Kayleigh!

Great video! Super informative! Another video idea is to show how you process your raws and how to get the most out of your raw files.
@KayleighJune5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion! Will definitely consider doing a tutorial on raw files 😊
@Lauraginte5 жыл бұрын
Another great one! So inspiring! Kayleigh, how do you process raw files? Do you add contrast or change any other settings in lightroom or camera raw? Also, do you do the same steps (BW adjustment layer) to light skin tones? Thank you!
@KayleighJune5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 🙂 I use Lightroom primarily for processing raw files, I only tend to make minor adjustments, however I could definitely consider doing a video on it! I also would generally do the same steps for light skin tones, just to a smaller degree with the black and white layer. 😊

i think as a suggestion it would be great to get a full screen before & after and make them a bit longer maybe a few seconds. also maybe having the before and after next to eachother on the screen? other than that your tutorials and content is so concise i love watching you!!

Yes absolutely! Will keep that in mind for future videos 😊

Love all this content you're putting out, so awesome! Not sure if I already suggested this lol but it would be super interesting to see a color grading workflow using Capture One's luma range tool vs luminosity masks in photoshop :)
@KayleighJune5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Daniel! Oooh that would make for an interesting video, great suggestion! I'm actually still figuring out Capture One, but I'd definitely love to do more tutorials with it once I feel a bit more proficient with it! 😀

The information is great thank you, the click sound is super annoying I guess it is a macbook, you know you can set it to touch to click right?
@ottawamountainman5 жыл бұрын
Is there a difference between using a luminosity mask (via the RGB) channel as shown here vs using the layer’s “blend if option” which is what I’ve been using and find more flexible -but im not sure if the end result is the same. The other way I’ve seen is to select a given tonal range is to use a selective color layer and then in that dialog box you can use tones instead of a color

I love it! After all experiments on first image, how do you apply all those settings to the rest images form the shot to make them look identical?
@IRISistibleMakeup5 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly
@KevintheVerbose Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how she does it but I'd group all the layers I want to apply to the next image, then drag and drop that group into the next image. Next I'd align the group's horizontal, vertical and top edges. Finally if there were any later masks dependent on the image, I'd delete that mask and create a new mask based of the new image to replace the one I had to delete.
