I have small samples of my carpet, flooring, tiles, and quartz worktop in a small bag. When I go shopping for furniture or homewares, I take this with me to see how the item would look and if it feels right (not jarring). I have saved myself loads of additional visits to shops to return items.

Thank you for understanding balance. I've seen so many "designers" telling people if they don't know what to do they should use all cool or all warm right down to the finishes.

You’re amazing! The best I’ve come across on KZbin for this topic. I’m highly introspective but realized I need some colors to brighten my mood. Shades of orange really lift my spirits. I’ll add a little of it thoughtfully to the living room, complementing the cream and soft tones already there.

My thought is once you know your personal colors (yes, the same colors that make you look your best when wearing) should play a key role in choosing the color palette for your space. That way you always look good in your own home.

So happy to see this video - although my hubby and I prefer neutrals and organic minimalism - we do have one vibrant colour we're drawn to and makes us happy to look at ( a deep - almost orange " Tuscan" or Provencal yellow that reminds us of Italy or southern France ) but it's been difficult to incorporate in small doses next to the mostly shades of white neutrality of our space. This video helped ! Wishing you a very happy holidays and the best New Year! Xo from Canada ❤️

Hi, I love your content , you explain it so well. Can you give me an idea or how my living room would look if my 2 favorite colors are red and yellow, my neutrals are gray and white and my wild card is black?

I use wooden paint stirrers for each paint. I then have a physical sample to use for reference, as the paint company samples are often inaccurate.

Unfortunately my wardrobe is the opposite of my color choice for interiors. I love black, white, navy and florals in clothing, but would be overstimulated by that in my paint choices. I prefer more earthy colors and muted tones

I just purchased your full bundle. My husband and I just purchased a lovely home that is only two years old. The interior walls have a very cool white paint throughout with marble fireplaces and marble walls/countertops with cool undertones. My husband is insisting that we paint the entire interior a warm white, which just isn’t worth the expense to me. I’m trying to think of ideas to warm up the interior even with a cooler undertone white paint. Any ideas from anyone are welcomed!

Can u go wrong with preference for neutral tones like taupe, cream and beiges and gold tone for a punch of color ❓
@reynardlowellАй бұрын
Yes the biggest mistake with neutral normally is not using enough textures, shapes, and also not having enough variation in shades. Everything becomes more important in a neutral room as there is no colour to pull your eyes away.

I'm trying to decide what rug to chose for a room with lots of wood (bright and a bit darker, but its all warm wood tones) and a grey couch. Current contenders are: - an olive rug - a terracotta rug - a brown rug with white stripes (zara home rug 03) I currently tend towards the olive rug to create a bit of a calmer and natural atmosphere and your video only solidified my choice a bit further. I wish I could somewhat have all three rugs tho, because they look great, especially the one from zara. Thanks for the video.

I'm struggling with colors right now. I'm repairing an older house with light, pink, subway tiles in a bathroom. I'd prefer not to get rid of original tiling, but it's also not a color I like. I'm half tempted to build a second wall over them to preserve them but still get my own look, but it's a small bathroom and that would take away from the already minimal space.
@vaderladylАй бұрын
have you googled color combinations wth that pink. There might be a combination with another color you like that can compliment the tile to your liking
@quanquedАй бұрын
@@vaderladyl It seems some greens and blues are doable, generally seem to be darker/bolder greens and blues with gold accents and transitions. However, the one that seems the most promising is using oranges to make the pink look more towards a brown. I'll have to get color swatches and see if I can find something that pulls it off.
@vaderladylАй бұрын
@@quanqued yes, sounds like a good approach.

So difficult, I have just bought a 2 bedroom 1950s home at huge cost with lovely vic ash floors, in expensive inner suburb. Has low ceilings of course from that modern period which I hate. I loathe the pastel greens and dirty dreary whitish walls most homes have. I would love deep rich wonderful colours but after hiring a dulux paint adviser all I got was what colour do you want and the dulux paint in that. It was no help at all. Just expensive. I did have one innCanbberra who was wonderful, looked at the stone walls etc and choose something stunning, and linked me to award winning painter and crew who discounted for me.
