As a beginner you need a constant reminder of these basics. One thing is that there is no need to over refine a winning strategy with more indicators. I think for every security there are certain indicators it responds well to and it is you job to find it. Secondly use price actions first then trend lines, then support and resistance then chart patterns then indicators confluence. For me personally I think moving averages. m MACD RSI AND stochastic should be just enough for trading setups. Keep it clean and simple

Exceptional video, I'm an amateur algorithmic trader using my mathematics/coding knowledge to develop a technical indicator based prediction of stock movement. And I can confirm that grouping any of the within-class technical indicators together gives you little-no additional information since many of these share variables in common with multiple equations. Sir Best combination of indicators I use is McGinley Dynamic of 25 periods and Arnaud Legoux Moving Average of 21 periods crossover , VWAP along with Heineken Ashi candle stick Chart pattern, that's all, this strategy helps my in all segments like Equity, Futures & options, Currency and Commodities Trading 👍

I think they are in the same group but they look at different information to plot their indicator information. MACD is based off moving averages, but RSI is another momentum indicator based on recent price. That's why people pay attention to MACD and RSI convergence and divergence.

Personally I use a trend and momentum indicator but to eliminate the prediction factor I set small targets. So my goal is grow my account at 0.5% per day which in turn introduces the compounding effect. So keeping the profit targets small and consistant, I already know what the account will look like years from now.

I'm new to trading, but I figured out SSL channel itself is an extremely powerful indicator even if it's not combined with anything else. When red overlaps green, it's a strong sell signal, when green overlaps red, it's a strong buy signal. This indicator on its own does the heavy lifting of a strategy explained by you in your video "Most effective Heikin-Ashi strategies for day trading and scalping". Of course you should use common sense and think before executing a trade, because for example, if a change in trends occurs after a heavy downtrend, or uptrend, this strategy is not applicable. But during days with a medium volatility and consistent spikes, this indicator alone can do wonders for you.

Excuse me, which category does the MACD belong to? At 1:17 you list it under the trend indicators, while at 4:04 you say it is a momentum indicator..... Thanks, David

Good question: MACD is basically derived from two exponential moving averages, which are trend indicators. But at the same time, the MACD line (not the histogram) helps us to spot changes in momentum (MACD line being the distance between the two moving averages). In my interpretation, the MACD histogram is useful for trend indication, and the line for momentum. In that particular example, I was referring to the MACD line, which shows basically the same momentum as RSI or Stochastic (some traders use the MACD line to spot overbought and oversold areas, just like RSI and Stochastic, which again is a mistake).
