THANK YOU! No one else online has mentioned the time based combo isn't available without the mod. Spent too long trying the combo before the mod to see if I liked the playstyle. Level 4 isn't too hard of a grind at least.

Good stuff! Like you said in the video, the game doesnt explains lots of thing and one of it, that I really love doing with Zephyr his using his ability that sends enemies in the air and then, while in the air, doing the shoulder bash ability, instead, it does a drop kick that knocks back and does great damage!

I more or less figured this out by messing around in training mode but all I thought it meant, was 'delay your hits' to trigger the cooldown reduction on the last hit. I never noticed the flash at all. Good to see it explained in more detail here.

I really wish his combo was longer since he is the melee DPS exo suit. He’s my favorite exosuit design because he reminds me a lot of Vergil’s beowulf and Dante’s Agni and Rudra.

Having a 2 man team of Witch doctor and Zephyr is really good. Stunning packs allows the high combo to take place. (Up kick and shoulder charging are combo links.) and the healing always help. Both are very mobile and work great together.

ive been grinding to get every character to level 30 and recently finished Zephyr, going into it i expected the typical "brain dead melee spam" character but once i unlocked Assailer and learned about his perfect combo mechanics and just how fun it is to string combo's together, he became probably one of my favorite exosuits i probably should have known from the start he wouldn't have been as simple as i expected him to be considering how much Monster Hunter has shown me when it comes to Capcoms ability to make even the simplest weapons complex

As a lvl20+ Zephyr i can say that Assailer is his bread and butter, it allows him to use everything in his kit more often thus making him more deadly. I usually run the Durability module and Gust Step module with the Aid rig to really give him maximum survivability and turn him into a pseudo-tank The Durability gives him more health and the Gust Step gives more defense from losing that health. The assailer keeps you teleporting around and usually keeps you one blink in the tank to use to get behind a corner and heal yourself with Aid before going back out to fight

@ADEtheMayhem its good but as a Zephyr you should never be so stationary that you'd reliably ever use one. Remember the shield doesn't keep you alive so much as it keeps enemies at bay .. for a moment

I maxed Zephyr and I can say I'm not sure melee enhancer is worth it over assailer for pve. Melee enhancer really shreds enemy tank suits but it doesn't seem that good against big dinosaurs and hordes, you'd be better off with the enhanced cooldowns from assailer for that.

I've always played zephyr as a dino launcher and big dino stunner with the assailer, Skyfall upgrade and hi xol to mostly focus on some crowds to send dinos into other dinos

I used to use the combo cooldown, but it's so much better to use the damage increase module. Your o Autos do 70-100 damage, which is overall way more damage than the cooldowned skills. Also, overdrive with the damage increase module is unstoppable and brutal, not to mention the absolute PREASURE you apply on healers and dps with how much damage you do (Weak spit damage does like 175, so killing big dinos is super easy) Honestly, I hope they buff the cooldown module because it is way better for cc Dino clearing, but because it only saves at most 5 seconds, and ONLY if you land a hit. I just don't like to bring it. Also, always bring dah shield it let's you stay in the heat longer before having to run back to the heals, and most of the time, it guarantees an enemy kill. Shield + zypher forever ❤

Melee enhancer makes him a even closer ranged based version. I prefer the cooldown reduction but mele enhancer has a huge melee damage increase on the autocombo at the trade off that it no longer shoots the energy like it normally does without it. Meaning you gotta hit the enemy point blank.

The damage increase from melee enhancer is only like 15% once you substract the damage lost from the energy damage proc lost. But since melee enhancer also increases attack speed, and since you no longer need to wait to time every third attack, it's probably a lot more dps gained on single targets. My guess is melee enhancer is geared toward pvp

Could you use your vertical sword flip lash slam when using the whip after using your counter, so there's damage going up and damage coming down? Idk if there's a 1-2 sec wait time before activating another skill

I was really curious what the in-game description of assailer meant for doing combo until I tested in training and found out about the lighting 3rd attack and that seemed to be the one reducing my cooldowns.

You don't have to side slash to do the combo, just attack. It's about timing, not what type of attack you do.

Meh I've found melee enhancer 2 to be better imo. You usually play more of a strike and run style where getting cdr doesn't actually happen as much as you would think. But you know what always happens......50 percent damage! It also changes your attack speed BTW and there's a secondary that also talks about attack speed when using sky kick. I wonder how they interact

that module also shreds in pvp doing the slow combo gives you no benefits. but for pve combo is 100% better

@almightyj6508 I was actually thinking about writing this exact same thing. Against dinos yea. But Against the pvp end portion where all ultimately are thrown and dinos are out. Getting a fast kill on a healer etc. Is really huge imo.
