I find that it's helpful to see our brain in two parts. Logical and emotional. The emotional part is quite prehistoric and gives us that panic, fight or flight feeling. The flight or fight response increases your senses, including hearing!! So it's so easy to end up in the negative loop spiral because louder T causes more anxiety which causes louder T..... The problem is our emotions see tinnitus as a threat. Fortunately we can use the logical part of our brain to calm down the emotional part. This is pretty much what I think you are saying actually. Great videos Julian.
@f.b.8254
@f.b.8254 6 жыл бұрын
basstutorman, this is brilliant. YES. This is what has helped me a lot. I have come to where I don't care much at all, on the occasions I hear it. It's like the most minor of nuisances, and my attention only stays on it for like a few minutes, then I'm back to my regular, daily life, full of interests, and activity. I'm no longer worried about it, at all. I think I knew intuitively that if I backed off the intense "emotionality" of it, I'd start to feel better, and lo and behold, that is what has happened.

@@amalasiri Hey I respond to your comment because I was wondering if the ketogenic diet played a role in your recovery. Have you stuck to it? I am trying out diet and exercises and stuff but haven't noticed any difference yet (after 5 weeks of low carb) and something tells me that recovery might just be 100% mindset rather than physical. I'd like to hear your experience with this... Anyway, congratulations and I'm glad to have read your positive comment today... 😊 👏

jules is the man... Is he an anomaly? Maybe? Not everyone may completely eradicate Tinnitus like Jules, but with practice, akin to his advice, you can reach a deep state of habituation, where it no longer affects you, which avoiding semantics, is where we all want to be.

I was ignoring the tinnitus well yesterday, and then today I woke up I it was louder and I was determined to ignore it again , but my audiologist decided too ring me and I made the mistake and asked he if anyone had cured this and she said no !! , I'm sure she's wrong but she's put me into a negative mindset again and really dragged me down so I'm listening to julians videos again to reassure myself it is possible to get rid of this but it seems its two days forward and then being dragged down again , my audiologist seems to know nothing of the condition , has no information, and is really negative , why don't they educate themselves it is their job , I hope she does not ring again.

I’m having an awful time as my partner is prone to outbreaks of anger and yelling at me. My tinnutis rages out of control. He knows this but it seems to never stop him. One day he’s loving and caring, I begin to relax and then I’m woken up to him screaming at me and that’s how my day begins... then panic and worry set in for the day :( I’m afraid I’ll be stuck with my tinnutis and ear pressure forever. I am trying to be more active physically as I have a very bad painful back so I see a physiotherapist to strengthen my body. It’s a vicious circle ⭕️ when you don’t know what is going to come at you next in your own home. My hearing has become so much worse I sleep with one hearing aid in as I get afraid in a deaf world but a head full of cabin pressure and waterfalls.....

matisse monroe, I agree with others who say, begin to consider leaving your partner, for good. And if you fear he will come after you, please, please get help for protecting yourself (and your children, if you have any). I know this is easier said than done, but you cannot fully heal, or perhaps not heal at all, while living with daily extreme anxiety and fear and abuse. Even yelling loudly is abuse, it is emotional abuse, and it can wear you down so that you haven't the strength to do much of anything. It affects you on all levels - body, mind, and spirit. Believe me, please, I know. I am middle-aged, and recently ended a 6 year long relationship with a man who was emotionally/verbally abusive. I loved him and still care about him, because he is a tormented soul, etc. etc, but I wanted my life back. I TOOK my life back, so I no longer see him. I attracted men like this because I grew up with an abusive father, who to this day STILL behaves abusively, to my dear mother, and to his kids. I live far from him but he will even affect me on the phone sometimes. I would have long ago cut off all contact with him were it not that I love my mother, and if I want to see her, and have a relationship with her, I have to sometimes tolerate my father on the phone, or in person. But he is very draining. It does not matter if your partner is "sometimes" kind, or loving, he is STILL abusing you, and no abuse is okay, none. I hope you can find the strength to seek help for yourself in this regard.

I played guitar standing next to an amp for a matter of hours. I have had tinnitus since. Is it likely it will go with time as I havs never experienced it before this and I'm hoping being young is a benefit. It does not disturb me really, I can easily get to sleep and I can't hear it outside unless I really focus on it. Any 'advice' or information if it will go or not?
