@@BARTALKWITHOLA since both criminal and civil litigations are on, when a verdict is pronounced in the both trials and for instance the defendant is guilty, he'll have to pay damages awarded in the civil proceeding and serve jail terms for his conviction as well?

@@SimdiEze-jv8pi yes of course. Usually they are different trials with the same defendant. So two separate proceedings. Both outcomes are different and must be carried out, whether in the defendant's favour or against him.

By applying when there's a call for application, going through the selection rounds, and getting an appointment. Typically, 10 years post call experience to become a High Court judge. Others are graduated. Essentially, there's a criteria that comes out with the call for applications. Where the shoe fits, a person may apply.
