How to communicate technical knowledge to diverse audiences (without coming across as a know-it-all)

Thank you Miro Kazakoff, this shall be rewatched, meeting people where they are at is a skill worth cultivating, this what those that inspire me to become a better version of myself tell me, both living and passed on, through their work. One question, a little off topic. I was one of the last high school students to have grade 13 as an option. Algebra was one of the courses taken, it was simple to produce correct solutions, but I didn't understand what it's purpose was, it was just assembling a solution, but it felt artificial, and this I found very disturbing, my fellow classmate who did seem to understand it did not understand how I could ace it and yet miss the purpose of the solutions. Have you ever encountered this? it could be just be a case of not knowing what I didn't know, and I did eventually see the light, thanks to an animated short produced by the provincial government. That short was 17 mins long. I watched it about 3:45 am one morning, after indulging in SNES Super Metroid all night.* 5 years had passed since the grade 13 course, and let me tell you the understanding of just how useful Algebra is was effectively revealed, and I continue to be grateful for that short, I do wish I had saved it. * A mysterious virus went around the office, everyone lost their voice, not all at once, a few at a time, it took three weeks to get it back, so all night Nintendo sessions were possible.
