Depends on the culture, but unfortunately some people confuse politeness and weakness for some weird reason. Thanks mate for this lesson.

I am really grateful for this lesson. Six months ago, I had a problem with a bad service of my former real estate agency. I struggled, because I realised I hadn't know phrases for sucsessful negotiations with them. I didn't know how to protect my interests politely and tell my point of view about their unacceptable service. I knew that I couldn't make a complain in English. Thanks a lot for your lesson, next time I will be ready for this type of situation.

I enjoy these videos. I think being friendly is an excellent way to start. However, I don't apologize for "bothering" someone when it's their job to help me! I'm American, and am more straightforward. But I usually say, "Do you have a minute?" Or, "I just bought a ---, and have a question about it." I usually get what I want because I remain friendly, empathize with people doing their jobs, and always thank them for their time. Onward!
