Thanks guy! I had forgotten how to force restore my son's iTouch. It's 2016 and your tutorial helped me recall what Apple tech support told me last year. Thanks! For us old fogies out here (not really that old, but age is a state of mind) your help is greatly appreciated. And Apple luckily keeps many of the same procedures across the board for it's devices even now. My 10 year old thanks you as well. It's his device that is stuck downloading apps from iCloud. Restoring again is necessary, but I can't get into iCloud to turn of FindMyiPhone. So, a force restore is necessary. Again, thanks! :)

Brian: Thanks for this video. I have an iPhone 4 from Cricket that is 12 months old. I am the original buyer and it is not jailbroken (however purchased it with one telephone number which I used for 6 months, then cancelled the service for 2 weeks before porting over my personal number to the cricket network using that iPhone 4). 2 weeks ago, I began to have trouble, first by losing my "personal hotspot" option under settings. I did a "reset network settings" first, and it did not work. Additionally, I feel as though my battery is draining much faster than normal. Last, 70% of the time when I plug in my USB cord to charge the phone, I will see a notice that my phone may not be supported by that device (usually any power source other than a direct outlet, including my laptop when it is not plugged in to the laptop's power source). Therefore, I have decided to perform a hard reset. I have two questions: 1.) what was the website that I can download the program from? (www.felixbruns.de?) 2.) After performing the hard reset, is there any chance I lose my cellular capabilities? (i.e. will it now turn into a iTouch until I go to a Cricket store to get it resolved?) 3.) well that depends on if you have logged on your account in the past few days. If you have then what you have to do is log on to your account plug in you device and it will say its syncing. When its done syncing it should have your data from when ever the last time you synced it. If you have never synced it sorry dude idk what to do for that

brianvidguy how long does it usually take to completely restore iPod touch 4th gen? I followed all the same process you did like i downloaded the firmware then restored my ipod on itunes. It failed actually on my first 2 attempts then i'm on my 3rd attempt now. My device is currently showing the apple logo with a blank loading bar under and on my itunes, it says waiting for iPod. It has been like this for the past 45 minutes already. Is this normal? Thanks!

I checked online and i was told to download tinyumbrella which i did but keep getting the NO SHSH even after i click on exit recovery. If you get message while trying to restore that says something like "Itunes could not access your Ipod need a passcode to enter.", then don't do this. Get into DFU mode (I don't know what it is). It's different. Do the same steps until you have to turn it on. When you turn it on, hold the power+home button at the same time for aprx. 10 seconds, then let go of the power, but continue holding the home. It will open on the Itunes thing, click restore, then you're good to go. ~Jose

Hii My question is how you delete all the messages when u seek in the iphone. When you delete the whole message of an person and come back to the main first side and slide that window to right you get up an empty side where u can seek in your iphone. When you click on any letter, all the deleted messages will show up again which you've already deleted. Plss help me to delete the "backup" there, its quite annoying thx

If your iphone won't restore due to stupid errors like 1601 or 3194 .. etc. you can open redsn0w and click on RESTORE button then SELECT IPSW, after that you select the SHSH (LOCAL blob) , and finally it will ask you to put the device on pwned DFU mode and from there it will restore to selected IPSW ....

If you have it set for your notes to be backed up on iCloud or have them backed up on iTunes, you won't lose them. Just restore and re-sync.

your awesome my Brother just had spring board crashon him cause he didnt ever update his I pod touch. So My dad restored it using all my data from the last time i logged on in Itunes. This made me peeved. On top of that he got the newer version of the fermware so i was super mad. But thanks to you i can just log on to Itunes and have all my data and have my i pod restored with the new firmware. This probably made no scince but in a shorter version it means thanks so much.
