You have to go to red snow again press extras, then select your ipod thingy, let your ipod reboot, and should work

One question. Do you need to have an Itunes backup on your computer for this to work. It's just that I tried your 4.3.5 tethered jailbreak for my iPod touch and I didn't have itunes on my laptop and it didn't work. My iPod's fine. The restoration put it to iOS 5.0.1.

Connect to iTunes and if on a lower firmware you should get a popup click download only and save to desktop or whatever

wow thank you so much, I have been looking for an untethered jailbreak for 5.0.1 for some time now and this worked so easily! followed the same steps you did in the video, and I had cydia on my phone within 5-10 mins. For those who get stuck at waiting for reboot and the device restarts, you need to download the firmware which can be found if you google: "Firmware - The iPhone Wiki". When your in the website, press on your device and download the right firmware which you have now (5.0.1 with this version of redsn0w) the file has an .ipsw ending, and takes up like 750mb. after that before you start the jailbreak, press on "Extras", "Select IPSW" and find the file you downloaded. after that press back and JB it

@007Mrpedro Jailbreaks: Untethered - The best of the three, you can boot up (turn off and on successfully) and use all of the great features that come with Jailbreaking and Cydia. Recommended by many. Semi-Tethered - You can still boot up without a computer, ((it's gonna be slower than normal (normal = unjailbroken)) but some features like Cydia and Safari won't open. It's a mix of the two. (Tethered in follow-up comment)

I currently have a jailbroken iPhone with tweaks and etc. from Cydia. If I sync with iTunes, it will automatically "backup" my phone. My question is, if I do a clean restore from backup, will garbage leftover from jailbreak be restored as well? I want to do a clean restore of my phone, but with no garbage leftover from jailbreak and without having to delete app data, photos, etc. Note that I used the word "garbage" because the normal iPhone will not recognize it. You have to use redsn0w version 0.9.11b4. MAKE SURE YOUR COMPATABILITY & SOFTWARES ALL UP TO DATE (including itunes) no need to select ispw either. Took me forever to get it to work.

@TheFlarper Yeah, if you've never been jailbroken before, the recoverymode and DFU mode look exactly the same on the iPod/iPhone/iPad screen, and iTunes will tell you it's recovery mode for both modes.
