Thank you, I'm happy to changed the bit about soldering the jack!

Worth noting that depending on the screen you have you may not even need the capacitor and just a wire will do. I understand from reading elsewhere that some modern displays may blank from time to time if you don't have a capacitor.

Really nice instructional video. I somehow came across your channel looking for answers on how to repair my Speccy. I'm pretty newbie, so I don't understand most of the stuff right away. My question is, what is a Composite Video Mod? And why do you do it? Thanks. :)
@HappyLittleDiodes4 жыл бұрын
The mod changes the format of the spectrum's video signal from RF modulated to composite video which results in a better picture that most modern televisions can display

The instructions at the beginning are incomplete. They fail to advise that you will also need a ZX Spectrum. Before I knew what had happened, I found I had made a composite video mod to my kitchen table. #NotHappy!

But did it work??

Honestly I'm a layman, but if you write me correctly what is the capacitor I need, I'll buy. Very thanks

@happyLittleDiodes I forgot: is this simple solution also good for my 48plus?? In the video you use the original spectrum I hope so. My RF modulator is identical to yours
@HappyLittleDiodes Жыл бұрын
Yes it's identical you can use the same solution

I apologize if I bother you again. On ebay you can find them but I don't really understand if I should buy the axial ones or the radial ones. I'm not in the business (

I could never leave a capacitor sitting on the side of the board like that.
@HappyLittleDiodes3 жыл бұрын
There are boards you can buy to replace the modulator that make for a really neat video mod
@anthonybarbati99693 жыл бұрын
This is a really good clean mod. I can't see what's the issue of the capacitor on the side of the board? I have seen uglier klugs on computer boards. Another Happier Little Diode!

Then you really won’t like issue 3 DC/DC mods to bring it up to issue 4
@peterwhitey4992 Жыл бұрын
It doesn't look that different from the other components already sitting on the board, and you're not seeing it once the case is closed. This is an excellent way to mod it, since it's all original parts are still there and it's easily reversible.
