Johnny Miller was the very best golf analyst on TV of all time. There isn’t one that’s even close to him today! He made the telecast interesting!I miss his insights!

Johnny Miller and Ken Venturi were equals in broadcasting/analyzing golf. I cannot rank one above the other. Both were terrific!

The problem is Johnny was so much better than those doing color today, that they pale and can't even hold his golf towel!

Agree. I really liked his irreverent sometimes you might say, but frequently amusing and always interesting golf commentary.

Boom! 💥 🤯 Because I've been thinking 🤔 about my left shoulder for a few weeks now! This was the 💡 tip I needed!
@alanscott80675 ай бұрын
I like this video of Miller. My head moves slightly off the ball during my backswing. As long as I leave my hands at the top of my swing relaxed and set then all I need to do is shift and turn and the club releases as a consequence of momentum. Better ball striking with next to no conscious effort is never a bad thing! One must understand their owns swing and be able to find a balance within it to improve. It takes a long time to see improvements translate to lower scores when you factor in playing frequency and practice time availability combined with so many approaches to the swing. Own your own swing and learn how to shape shots! If you have a handful of shots you can hit reliably with a score of 7+ out of ten then you’re most definitely on your way to lower scores.

Johnny Miller is such a nice guy!❤

JMHO , transferring your weight to the front foot in the downswing will bring your shoulder forward towards the target. Hanging back on the back foot only produces a fat weak shot. Weight transfer is the key. This guy is a legend, always enjoyed watching him as well as the other greats.

I miss him and his honest commentary on the golf telecasts! The left shoulder should respond to the hips moving left pulling the shoulders and arms.

A very good tip for sure. As good of a golf analyst as he was a champion golfer. Miss his wit, golf knowledge and charm on those broadcasts. The best.

I just started playing last October and I’m 62 trips around the sun. One of so many difficulties I’m having is ball compression and hitting the ball before turf. Great lesson!!!!!
@scooterrockets78155 ай бұрын
You’re supposed to hit the ball before the turf. That’s how you get the compression.
@patrickschaeffersr59633 ай бұрын
@@scooterrockets7815 I understand that good sir. Is my wording hard to understand??

Yeah Johnny Miller didn’t pull any punches. He was so honest with his commentary good and bad. I like Faldo also but Johnny was the best.

Eliminate as many variables as possible. Eliminate the sway variable by NOT swaying. In other words, keep the weight on the leading side, as taught by the Stack and Tilt method, specifically on the superb SagutoGolf channel.

I’m a saguto golfer myself yeah you don’t even have to think about all this stuff when you do it the easy saguto way Tom is amazing and I play so much better after taking his course even someone just watching his free videos could do so much better

Doesn't that thought cause you to sway fwd and then get inconsistent strikes as the body shifts /sways fwd... Seems like a timing nightmare?

Hang a little on your left side. Almost all great golfers do. His weight never transfers as far back as in his explanation. Watch the full swing. His weight never goes past the instep of his right foot.

My left shoulder always gets back or probably ahead & I still hit them fat from time to time.
@MitchWolf-s1z5 ай бұрын
Maybe you shouldn’t put. your slide away from the ball. I’ve been using the stack and tilt for over 10 years. I just don’t move off the ball. I put my left shoulder under my chin keeping my head still. It works for an old man like Johnny are a young person just starting out. Quit moving off the ball. It’s a recipe for fat ,chunked hits.
@JeremiahAlphonsus5 ай бұрын
Precisely, as taught on the superb SagutoGolf channel.

Why compress it
@LowerMyHandicap-today2 ай бұрын
compressing the ball usually allows you to hit your irons further and puts some extra spin on the ball. Here is a good article from golf.com explaining the concept. golf.com/instruction/approach-shots/joe-plecker-golf-ball-compression/

Don’t tell me you’re perfect in every way aren’t you. Not a single thing anyone could call you out on. Well apart from the fact that you make sly derogatory comments online. Bet you’re awesome to be around, maybe JM reads your comment and thinks wow what a perfect human being maybe I’ll go drink some fat free soda with them. I don’t think so

The easiest way to compress the ball is to hit it hard with the club face.
