Thankfully I live in a state where printing is not an issue. Connecticut has some crappy gun laws, but one thing we have is the method of carry is not dictated (open or concealed). I have been riding since 1978 with total miles so far around 460,000 on 2 wheels. I carry 3:00 OWB location in a leather holster. Never had a problem with being stopped while carrying on a gun on a bike... never been stopped on a bike period.

Typically, I am a big proponent of not open and caring in general purely, because if you are carrying a gun and you do not let anybody know, then nobody will single you out and pick you as the first target. But on a motorcycle is one of those rare instances where I am actually a big proponent of it mainly because it’s way easier to get to, and obviously much more comfortable.

I highly recommend the Hill People RECON KIT BAG....it's a chest bag specifically designed for concealed carry...it works perfect for when I go backpacking, and it being on your chest it's about the most comfortable when I ride...easy to remove, store in my helmet and quickly transition pistol to my tier1 appendix holster for when I'm off the bike. It works for me, and it's what I recommend, but always comes down to what works for the individual and personal choice. At the end of the day, what's important is that you're carrying 🤙 If you really need to, depending on what state you're in, there's always open carry in a drop leg holster 😄

Yeah Florida has no open carry so that’s not even an option. And I’ll check that setup out!
@madebyhim11973 жыл бұрын
I just opened carry and not worry about printing or not being able to get access to it...dual purpose keeps people off my ass and from cutting me off or taking over my lane while I'm in it.

I’m not a big fan of open carrying at all even if my state allowed it.
@madebyhim11973 жыл бұрын
@@RidinDad it does bring under attention and can understand why concealed would be a better option, just find it hard to ride comfortably concealed.
@RidinDad3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I completely understand that

@@madebyhim1197 Yep this is the exact reason I'm going to a drop leg holster. I cant find a comfortable place with a big jacket. So being im going to open carry Im just going to a full size Glock.

I use that bag everyday but I use the big pocket at the top, easier to access specially if you add a some paracord to find the zipper faster, love it, I can give 2 shits what people think I look like 😂

first rule when carrying is keep it holstered on your person not in a bag so you can forget it or sam with a car/bike cuz you will forget to grab it when walking away from car/bike or forget the bag when you put it down on the ground for whatever reason. i pocket carry with a aliengear holster in the inside jacket pocket or in my pant pocket depending if i plan on taking the jacket off when i get off the bike
@RidinDad5 жыл бұрын
john russo that’s a good way to go too. Carrying on the body is always preference but sometimes you have to carry off body for whatever reason. And for some, if you’d rather carry off body and carry a full size gun or even a better caliber than you’d be able to with pocket carry, its worth the trade off.

My riding vest has a pistol pocket. Espinozas leather also makes super high quality vests and I’m sure you can get one completely custom.
@RidinDad4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve seen those. I could just toss a holster in one of my riding jacket pockets too. I just don’t like that because you are forced to keep wearing whatever layer that is off the bike. It’s too hot here for that
@rodolfosabater77814 жыл бұрын
Why not just use a shoulder holster and wear a jacket to conceal it
@RidinDad4 жыл бұрын
Not a fan of shoulder holsters. And if I do that I’m stuck wearing the jacket no matter what happens which kinda sucks.

Do you have a claw that can be added to a blade tech holster? (Vp9) I typically use it strong side. Though for riding I've debated appendix. Just don't like the way it sags away from me.

I don’t make holsters anymore. I gave up the business a while ago man sorry
@rcheas48944 жыл бұрын
Crossbreed holsters has a pack mat that would do what you’re looking for inside your thigh bag.
@RidinDad4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I’ll look in to it. I do a backpack in a saddlebag now with a custom Velcro board I made out of some scrap Kydex from my holster making days but I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks again!

I say never ever carry off person ! If someone complains about your gun printing Simply explain to them that, that is what freedom looks like! and move on with your day .
@RidinDad Жыл бұрын
Can’t do that in certain states. In Florida printing is a violation of state statute
