You're a very soothing counsellor. That is the best quality to have in this field. I didn't realise it was broken down into so many parts, emotions, goals etc. Very inspiring!

I love the way the counselor only reflect too the client what she had said and the way the counselor let client speak her own small changes that was durable.this is very helpful

Very perceptive. It is certainly a CBT model for more fully developing treatment fit with clients. From my view, all therapy should be rooted in a humanistic perspective in that we want to demonstrate complete respect through active listening and empathic responses. In terms of assessment, note that no labels or DSM language was used, I was just attempting to learn more about the client's symptoms, goals, first steps from a more holistic client view. Best of luck with your program!

It's a Treatment Fit Model (TFM) and research is emerging indicating how important it is to establish a collaborative working relationship with clients where the issues, goals, and initial treatment plan is agreed upon by client and counselor. The Johari Window, on the other hand, is a pictorial representation of a client's self-awareness and how counseling hopes to help increase self awareness and, when appropriate, personal transparency. I hope this helps. Good luck with your studies!

Hi, my name is Ariel. I am 12 years old, suffering from depression, bulimia, anorexia, self harm addiction and other personal issues. I've been going for counseling, definitely helps and to be honest, I was a junior counselor. The moment I realized that I had to help myself with my own issues to get myself in the best condition in order to help other people with their issues. My ultimate goal in life is to become a professional counselor, probably when I'm older, to connect with people, understand how they feel and think, share stories, talk them through their battles. But I do think that I'm not professional enough to do so being a suicidal 12 year old. Do you have any advice for me? Really appreciate it. Thank you! Lots of love :')

Very interesting - thank you. And I can totally relate to this situation - after I was rear-ended on the Interstate by a texting driver, getting back into the car was fearful and traumatic. Fortunately, even though my car was repaired, we were able to trade it in for another vehicle - just having a different interior space was helpful for me. But I did have to press against that fear and that trauma for awhile and use lots of positive self-talk to reassure myself.

What kind of person does it take to have this kind of job? does it ever get to you after hearing so many people's problems? I think I'd like to be a therapist, I'm always helping my friends with their problems, and I like to think that I have a very giving nature, I'd like to be able to impact people's lives in a positive way. Although I can be shy at times and have a bit of social anxiety...especially if I've stayed home a couple days and have to go to work afterwards, I feel weird:P am I the right type of person for this job?
