For future can you consider support for charging users if they want more space. E.g x usd p month if you want 1GB of space for videos etc? Could be useful to monetize and keep total volume down. Also with possibility for users to list and see uploads and maybe delete/replace w picture/link etc Maybe set a general max mediavolume per user and possibility to add more per group or user. Would be nice if user can see used basic volume Bought volume Possibility to buy more volume.

maybe it is possible to send the videos directly to bunnynet to free up server power so that people can post bigger videos. I can imagine that customers have it way easier then to record video testimonials and publish them in-app. However Iphone videos that are 2-3min long are way bigger than 300mb :D

For the REST API version, I believe it may be possible if, instead of calling the "upload_item" backend function through the REST API, we use a client-side MUX uploader, and then hit the bp_video_upload action with the results. That way, the video doesn't have to go into the server's storage, nor affect PHP upload limits, as all processing would be offloaded to MUX. We would essentially just store the metadata and thumbnail (which can also come from MUX in realtime). For the frontend version, if there were a way to hook into, or override "bp_activity_video_add", so that we use the MUX uploader, and then pass on the metadata to the appropriate functions, that could work too. Let me know if anyone on the team would like to bounce ideas about this.

+1 on that. I use bunny.net and looks like leopard media offload might work just need to know how they implemented the video folder structure. If it’s like the photos might be a challenge

Hi Michael, isn't it odd that when you click to play a video you are presented with a black screen instead of a video thumbnail or at least the video should start playing automatically instead of tapping play twice? I know this is a new release but are you guys going to make the video start playing on one tap or at least instead of a black screen which removes context for the user, you display the video thumbnail. When I tried it at first, I thought something was wrong. I didn't even click the play button on the black screen cos I was expecting it to start playing. I was immediately lost. Please let us know what you all are doing about that.

Very nice with videos, I also see risk of content not wanted on site like porn etc. What functions exists to handle new uploads before viewable/ after uploaded sucha as restrict to users/group. Delete/make video not viewable and only text "video removed ...."

Please note that the plugins we have tested or provide a special integration with are listed here: www.buddyboss.com/integrations/ Other plugins should work fine but the theme will not have any built-in styling to make them look nice if they have a front end interface.
