Let's leave that to other channels and then get back to the experiential context of demons. Besides, when a Jew or a Christian hates someone from another culture, its because that person has triggered a primordial image of some kind of fear from their deep evolutionary past. A repressed primordial image of a horned and fanged predator, a violent natural force, or a troublesome and evil temptress.

Just watching your video. I must have unconsciously summoned a demon many years ago, then I married her. Eventually we exorcised each other and got divorced. I've found the best way to overcome bad experiences is to maintain a sense of humour. As my ex-father's dreadful experiences in France in WW2 went into his book, 'Fear is the Foe's, to exorcise his 'ghosts'. We remained firm friends till he died. I understood this video before I watched this video. I find this a fascinating topic, it is unfortunate that the youtube lhp / goetia crowd has made a right joke of it. But on a more personal note, I used to have recurring nightmares, about something chasing me and me unable to speak or scream. This lasted until my early thirties. Then things happened that made me examine myself and my life a lot closer, and then one night I saw what was chasing me or who was chasing me, because I turned around to look at it. So you could say that I faced that demon because I never had that nightmare ever again.

My physician tends to give outdated, orthodox (misguided) medical advice...but I like that. I can rely on her to do that. Do Have to listen to her? No. Same goes for a mental health counselor. Never turn your health or your whole life over to a professional (unless you're undergoing surgery or some other crisis-intervention procedure). Professionals are useful merely as professionals, nothing more. You can always ask, point blank, whether the therapist is open-minded in the face of unorthodox spiritual practices (such as Tibetan Tantra or Wicca). And even if you end up with a therapist who gives "bad" advice, that situation can be enlightening when examined.

That would be a familiar spirit, then, not necessarily a "demon." No difference really, except for the familiarity part. Can a magician escape from bouts of melancholy and simply be happy forever? Of course not. It's simply the "poor me" within that melancholy that dies. The melancholy becomes a welcome friend who visits from time to time. You might even say that melancholy is an antidote for hubris. As is laughter. And that's why laughing and crying are so similar.

I was looking forward to this for some reason, I haven't watched it yet but wanted to note that at the exact time this was uploaded I got out of a vivid dream/nightmare, I wanted to get up and write on my diary what I experienced so I opened my eyes and wanted to turn on the light, but I started getting pulled away from it, I wasnt actually awake, I was in a sleep paralysis. I eventually got up and tried to write my dream but the ink in the expensive pen that I just bought last week dried out, almost as if something was trying its best to stop me from writing the dream. This was pretty frightening, the sleep paralysis I'm kinda used to, but the new pen refusing to write on the diary (it worked on other paper) and then this video getting uploaded are very strong synchronicities. It kind of makes me doubt, if I should keep trying to write how the dream ended or "respect" what happened and just leave it unwritten and instead meditate on the whole experience... In the end I strongly doubt I'll ever forget it now anyways.

Hey! Loving these videos. You're really talented at explaining things clearly. I wish I'd got your book when I first saw. Would have probably saved me a lot of wasted time. Can you address something I must have really gotten burden with? My understanding is when doing visualization and "energy work" like drawing pentagram during the lbrp that you have to breathe in energy see it balled up then see it releasing out into the air as you draw? Is this not accurate? Can I simply just visualize and not involve all this breathing. It has really overwhelmed me trying to focus so hard on breathing. In your book I just read the LBRP you give and it didn't mention the breathing, with you very obviously knowing what you're talking about it feel like I've been over thinking this part and it's not even needed at all? Can I simply just visualize? I'd absolutely love it if that is the case. Breathing so much during all these rituals in the past slowed me way way down.
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
Not sure where you got the breathing thing. It is best to breathe very little almost all the time. Save the breathing for the Middle Pillar work. And keep it sloooow.
@Sl4ck0tikАй бұрын
@lyamchristopher2393 i got this from Damien Echols. He says breathing is how you move energy. So when you do a visualization, you need to charge it by using breath. For example in the QP ritual when you see the white light above your head you have to breathe energy into it multiple times before you draw it down. Nearly all his instructions are like that. Anyway it's always been rather distracting.
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
@@Sl4ck0tik Using the breath that way is a form of synesthesia. You can use other sensations to accomplish that, too. Hold your breath and Imagine a broom sweeping across the floor, the hissing sound of the bristles triggering energy to rise up from the Earth in sparkles. Notice how you don't even need to use a physical broom to do that, or to hear a physical sound.
@Sl4ck0tikАй бұрын
@lyamchristopher2393 thank you for clearing this up for me. I understand if it works for people but Id much rather focus on the visualization and not worrying about did I breathe enough energy into myself to draw a pentagram. It's been a hangup for a while. I'm 20% through your book. I been searching for something that felt right for me to officially start a routine practice. I do believe I've finally found it. Thanks.

Hey Lyam, thanks for the video as always. I wanted to ask you a question regarding the magical diary and the way in which I make my entries. I recently started using a very convenient digital tool called Obsidian which makes it very easy to structure and link my notes and journal entries between eachother. It is (in my case) way quicker and more organized than keeping a physical notebook. However something about doing everything on the computer doesn't quite vibe with me, and I was wondering if you had anything to say regarding the importance of writing on paper. Sorry for the long winded question and thanks in advance :) Sebastian
@vision2080Ай бұрын
I actually asked him this very question once and he said a digital diary is fine. I didn’t mention Obsidian but that is what I use as well. I have kept paper and digital journals for years, moving back and forth as suits me. While I’ll let Lyam give you the official answer, I would say if it doesn’t feel right to you, then use paper and pen. I have been keeping a digital magical journal for a number of months now with no problem. I like using Obsidian because I can reference my entries on specific rituals in my daily entries. I think in time it may be a very useful software for magical working.

Interesting. Started keeping my notes digitally also, using E-ink devices such as Boox. Very useful in being able to navigate and structure one's thoughts and recall them later with keyword searches via handwriting recognition. The benefits such as being able to take photos of divination readings and occurances and record audio all into a journal makes them overwhelmingly useful... tools. Like yourself I had to grapple with the fact that none of it is tangible. This is the main issue given we are tactile beings as humans, our capacity for sensory enrichment is the envy of even the spirits, some might say. It is the reason why books, vinyl and DVDs will never be replaced by their virtual offspring. Without its grounding.... it feels disconnected, it isn't present. There are also trust issues such as the risk of faulty soft/hardware/updates (lord forbid cloud servers) that gives further toward a lack of control. So IMO... they are tools. In practice I use an E-ink device for its increased function and capabilities there I can edit and refine things for review and input into a tangible journal. One that hosts the smell of incense, blood, sweat and tears of its use over time. Keeping the digital journals printed. The process allows the refined journal to be polished and focused on, improving the act of bringing ones experiences into the material world and grounding one's practice. Hopefully my shared concerns are of some use. Tnks

Part of the practice of journaling involves experiencing how to create a magical talisman. If you use a digital journal, I suggest that you make a physical project at least out of something. Your Compendium of Gods. Your Book of Trees. The optional elemental weapons. Etc.

I had a dream about my wife two years before we met. I lived the experience and started believing in something in myself and in the minds of others, or the mind of all. It’s all connected. The beauty of these demons I believe transfers between everyone. I feel I notice the more unspoken demons in the thoughts of others in my own thoughts. I use to be scared, still am scared. Is that fuel I use to free these demons? Being scared.. or is being scared the demon itself? Been having more profound connections lately. Would like to, as another comment said, unclog myself. I’ve only had the feeling of being light once before, after an awful few years of tendonitis in my feet that was psychosomatic. It was just, gone one day. The magic is “stuck” in the literature of the mind. Clung to formation of confusion or the need to understand. Like an endless spiral.
@lyamchristopher239328 күн бұрын
"Or is being scared the demon itself?" That's a good question! One thing I didn't mention--and students will discover this for themselves--is that the trigger image and the reacting image are very likely two different entities. For example, I was being haunted by an SUV (because of acute PTSD from a car accident). One might assume that the SUV that kept slamming into me was the demon that needs to be dealt with, but in truth, it was the cowering, cringing Gollum-like entity within me that came forth to speak. The poor little me that doesn't want to acknowledge that a physical body can be crushed and destroyed.

There’s a New Age practice called “parts work” that is similar to the “evocation lite” practice you taught in a previous video. When I did parts work with a therapist I was to embody the part we were trying to work on, and he dialogued with me. Come to think of it, it was basically invocation or channeling, and I did not have good results. Gives me an appreciation of the circle, banishing, binding etc - all the protective tools in Magick. Some of these New Age / spiritualist integration practices can really be quite dangerous.

Unfortunately, there are two beings that are intent on being disruptive. I've been looking for awhile to find someone who would have meaningful direction. It would seem that raising my vibration would be an answer which, as it turns out, appears to correlate with the middle pillar. When i imagine it, these beings project over the image i imagine. Darkening the ball of light. Admittedly, I am not well versed in the golden dawn practices. I was led to the middle pillar and told to invoke it. If you know of groups or individuals that teach or work together, perhaps people who can help with/inform on what I'm experiencing, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have an image of a piece of black paper with holes poked in it, and a beam of light shining through. It feels like such a fitting image for the ego during the journey of enlightenment. Everyday, sometimes in spite of ourselves, as we practice and suffer, we poke more and more holes in our piece of paper and it becomes more and more light. My paper shows forth many more rays than it used to…

Good morning, Brother, I trust you are we. I have a question. Does the Word of the Equinox vary by A.A. lineage, or is there only one? The reason I ask, is because my Superior gave me the Word LORSLQ as the Word of the Equinox, as opposed to KINGS. What are your thoughts?
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
How beautiful. 🥰 It means "flower." Or "blooming" in Enochian. As you might notice, I say that both of the equinoxes are times of flowering (or manifestation). Manifestation never turns off, it blooms until the universe has exhausted all of its drama. However, looking at the autumnal equinox as a time of disappearance (or going back into unmanifestation) is perfectly fine, and it might have another word attached to it for that apparent function. But I have just pointed out something about the equinoxes that you cannot "un-see" anymore. If there is another word for them, you can just wink at it. 😉

@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
Do we seek the left-handed path? Or do we seek the Left-Handed Path? To be truly Badass is to be suspicious of all the badassery on the left-handed path. Of all the bumps in the roadway. To delve past them and find the demons that give rise to them. To love them and to let them exhaust themselves, dissolving with them, together, into pure bliss. Now that is where almost no one will dare go! Certainly not the angels.

Sorry if this is off-topic but I saw you mention reading skills. I wanted to ask what you think about choosing more literal or more lyrical/poetic translations of old texts? Some examples are NRSV vs KJV, Homer, Confessions, etc.
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
One of the most common mistakes that new writers make is to assume that it's good enough just to deliver the contents of a message. It's not. Much more important is the effect that the writing has on the reader. And if that is so, then the incantational power of the words is more important than the payload of information unloaded. I would even go further to say that the information is hardly important at all. All that really matters is the transformative effect that writing has on its intended audience. And that makes translation a difficult art. The ability to translate meanings literally has little to do with producing an English version of something that has the same impact as the original rhythm, flow, and swirl of the original text.

I have a question, some philosohies say that the whole universe is but a projection of a cosmic psyche. So if an entity or aspect of our own psyche is conjured, is it possible for them to become actually physiscal? Like crystallized psyche, in a solid form?
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
Supposedly, it is. I have never seen such a thing though. Spirits tend to manifest in behaviors and events. However, bodily traits can morph over time based on what you are invoking or projecting onto yourself. For example, power-posing on a regular basis raises testosterone, giving men a more confident habitual posture and a bulkier (Mars/Jupiter) physique.
@vishnusudheer6049Ай бұрын
Sir so during the lbrp when we evoke the archaengels, are they also parts of our own psyche . Are the goetic demons whom many evoke monkeys from the depths of the mind. If yes are they common to every man
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
The demons of the Goetia were put together to meet a demand. There were assembled loosely from legends and nearly forgotten names and images, but mainly in an attempt (1) to make fun of the practice of magic and (2) to sell a "grimoire." But as I've said, even when you try to fool your dream analyst by making up a dream, the stuff you make up is still built up unwittingly from your current obsessions. This means that a made up system of magic, even when it's trying to poke fun at magic, can still end up semi-legit. If you've been following the videos, it should be clear by now that a book of spirits is record of one's OWN attempts at summoning up demons. Note how you can trigger them to arise. Note what energy they are wasting in their blind reactivity. Revalue them, validate them, and set them free from automaticity. That's how they can be made to "serve" you. Are demons personal or collective? You might want to consider how incredibly myopic it is for us to regard our demons as arising from our childhoods, or from some time in this particular lifetime. The most challenging ones are inherited from the collective unconscious, and they're a billion or more years old. We might say, then, that the Goetia is a lazy way of summoning spirits--for people who haven't done the inner work. It's also a Colonialist's vision of magic. Moving into the territory of the unconscious, enslaving the native inhabitants, and putting them to work in our (practical magic) "factories."

Dear sir I have a question. I am a hindu and i have heard a very experienced tantric say that when he started serious chanting of mantras of a specific diety, he was once visited by a simple black figure while he was in his bed awake and it just stayed there. Later it went away. What do you think of this. In hindu lore when a diety mantra is chanted voraciously over a period of time, the ganas of the deity start visiting you. What can you say about this.
@bw3372Ай бұрын
Had a similar experience. A robed figure appeared as I was between waking and sleep and looked towards me and said "A more legitimate Ephestria" then disappeared. I tried looking up the word "ephestria" and got results about a greek festival honoring a mythic greek figure that lived as a man, became a woman after a curse from a god, then became a man again equipped with the knowledge of what it's like to be a woman. I think the robed figure was alluding to something about the centering effect of the LBRP and middle pillar practice.
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
I would love to say that this is a deity, but think about it. What is the boogeyman? There is an unresolved confrontation, and it involves a man visiting you in your sleep, holding you down so you can't move. He's much stronger than you are. You are small and weak. Such apparitions can visit you and simply sit there, giving you a chance to dialogue with them and let them go. They won't necessarily attack. These scenarios are burned into cell memory, and they might not indicate childhood sexual abuse (or worse) that happened in this life. They can also represent kidnapping (children were often stolen and taken into slavery). They've been going on for millennia, and they resurface as very old "grudges" that are asking to be resolved somehow. These apparitions came to me in the form of animal predators. Another kind of trauma--especially for children--involves being attached by a predator in your sleep. Probably a phantom remnant of bears and saber-tooth tigers. Also, snake bites! 😬

Beyond my ability to answer, but you might want to consider that we can define ego as unconscious and compulsive. When its unconsciousness and compulsiveness is gone, it is no longer ego. Just persona. But the persona won't survive either, apparently. Survival never really was the concern. Immortality is only an obsession of mortal beings. Beings such as egos and personas. Straight off the bat you say “supposedly opposing forces”. Isn’t this a huge demotivator for magic? Also, any take on the SRA DID lore? It’s the whole shebang about how victims of (satanic) ritual abuse have repressed the memories and the dissociation created alters that perpetuate the occult activities without their “presenter personalities” being aware of it. Could it be that you have deeply occult alters/aspects/parts that have a good laugh at the you that tries to scratch the surface of magick? Do you find yourself missing time?
@lyamchristopher2393Ай бұрын
In the theater of the imagination, the supposedly opposing forces are still there, and they are still playing out a drama in which they appear to oppose each other. They are still on display so that something about them can be appreciated. There is your motivation. Now go and appreciate whatever that is. They don't call it the Mysteries for nothing. Remember that the drama of art is the place to which we try to banish magic to convince ourselves that magic isn't real. How stupid of me to have ever fallen for that lie. And when I wake up from that escapist tactic, I don't wake up FROM a dream. We wake up TO it!
