If you have a monitor with a DVI Connector that you're using on a system, can you plug it into a display port using a display port to dvi cable connector? The question is, does the display port automatically show the display you normally get on your DVI socket? I have an older monitor that I want to temporarily use on a new system using display port, but have never used display ports before. Thank you for your help.

I have a question. I have a dell E6410 and my display port is reversed. That like decline narrow part is on the left side yours appears to be on the right, how do you get a display cable that fits your particular port? I find that weird actually, two different display ports. Thank you for your time....

Does display port connect from the desktop tower to the monitor? Like an HDMI could? Or would you have to connect the display port from iPad/laptop/tv to the monitor only?

I hooked up the DVI port, the HDMI for ProTools and it is not letting me share both screens. How do I do that or are you knowledgeable in that?

While I haven't used pro tools I can say that sometimes it is important to know the difference between DVI digital vs analouge vs mixed signal connection to make your screen work and make it work with protools, so check the monitor and protool compatability and see which connection it is.

It should have more connections than only hdmi, see what options you have. Adapters exist otherwise but they are not cheap.
