Thank you Jason. Very helpful tutorial. Just one question ....at the end of the video when the box was opening the menu list, is the actual menu list which came on briefly built into the mag Box ? Or is the menu which appeared from the IPTV provider itself ? I have the very-same menu on my iptv and am thinking of getting a mag box but unfortunately have no idea who my iptv provider is since I bought the package from a reseller. The menu which appeared at the very end of the video after the box booted up was identical to the menu I am presently running. I have got so used to this menu and hope you can help me here Jason. Thank you for a great tutorial .

Hi. Yes, that menu is from the URL portal. Not all URL give you the same look.

You suggested In the Mag520 box, you can enter 2 different providers. One on portal 1 (This is the one you are using now) You can enter a 2nd provider in portal 2, This way to can switch back & forth from providers. And I was just replying that my 520 doesn't have a Portal 2. only two USB-type ports, one HDM1, one Lan and one 'Fn' whatever that is, and a power connection of course. I was just wondering how I can do what you suggested i.e. switch to portal 2.

Your portal is in setting. It's the URL that you get from an IPTV provider.

Hi Jason, we have used this method previously and it has always worked, but we keep getting a screen after the reboot that says Waiting for Network Setup, with a count down. No matter what we do, or how many times we follow those steps, it won't connect to the Wi-Fi. It was fine before! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Thank you so much for the detailed help that you have given me over the months. I now have a question, and I cannot find any other comments that cover my question. I used a Mag 520 that came with a previous ex-pat TV system. I have now unsubscribed, and obviously have a spare Mag 520. Can I use this same STB for another system that I am thinking of subscribing to? Also, the ex-pat system suppliers are still sending out their system because I am subscribed up to Dec 28th. Q. Will a new system supplier be able to use my S.T. box to send me their services or do I have to wait until the first suppliers have shut down their service to me. Is the only solution, to buy a new STB? So that's all a bit complex Jason. Also, is the 520 still a good STB.

Yes, it's still a good box. Yes you will be able to switch anytime. The only problem you might have is, if you get the same server from a different provider it might be locked to the old provider. If you have another server you are thinking of getting. Get 1 month and add it to portal 2 now, This way you can test it before switching.

Hi John. No, you don't need a WiFi dongle. Question. Is your WIFI split, 2.4G & 5G? if it is, try connecting to the 2.4G. The other thing you can try is reboot your WIFI /modem. Sometimes the modem blocks devices.

Great instructional segment,however, here is my situation I have a IPTV box (MAG254) which will not connect to my internet, I get a Error code 1020. I believe it is because my ISP provider is blocking the IPTV's portal address. My thinking is to connect another router(ASUS RT-N12+ N300) with VPN functionality( not sure if it supports openvpn, or can be flashed with DD-WRT ) to my existing router(TP-Link Wireless N Router WR840N model:TL-WR840N) and there by connecting the Mag254 to the VPN.Will my theory work? ThisI would like to do following the example you showed in your video, wirelessly.

Error code 1020 also means the URL is down. Try typing your URL of your portal on your phones browser. But make sure your not on any WiFi. And see if you still get that code error.

The Mag522w3 has WiFi, you don't need a WiFi adapter. You just need to turn on WiFi in setting.

We used iptv earlier and recently extended subscription , but this tike its giving me page loading error. In the network info, the status is showing as link is down and it shows the wrong mac address there. Can you help me on this?

It sound like your IPTV server is down. You have to use the Mac address of the box, Not the WiFi Mac Address. If you gave the Wifi Mac address to your provider, ask him to change it to the boxes Max. It's the one that starts with 00:1A:79:00:00

The portal doesn't have nothing to do with the wifi. If your Mag isn't picking up any wifi, the problem might be with the Mag. What I would do is factory reset the box, see if there's any firmware update available. The other option is to use a powerline. amzn.to/3FoaPqa

The way a powerline works. The first adaptor will forward the signal to the second adaptor through the electrical wiring. The second adaptor will forward the signal to your router. So this is a great way to hardwire your Mag box with out running a internet work from your modem to the Mag box.

Hi. It sound like your boxes Wifi might be faulty if this keeps happening. Can you try something? try connecting your box to your phones Hotspot and see if that works. I will also switch to a powerline, it's faster and it's more reliable. amzn.to/3clUyGE

Hi. You connected the box to your home internet and you get your IPTV service from a provider. The IPTV provider does not need to know anything about your home internet. He just needs the MAC address of the box.

Test your hard wire with something like a laptop. For the wifi, if you go to setting - network - under the wifi check to see if you got a IP address. If not, your modem (ISP) might be blocking your box. Try rebooting your wifi/modem, then try it again and see if you got a IP address.
