same here, i am also using att Uverse modem with att fixed wireless internet. I think att is blocking it from connecting. They keep giving me the run around on why it wont connect, one of the reason was my 50 megabit connection is not fast enough for the echo!

If you did everything as in the video and got stuck on connecting to wi-fi, then check if your device is paired (bluetooth) with the speaker. If your device is paired with the column, then remove the column from the list of paired devices, restart the application and start from the beginning. For me it worked.

Thanks for providing a solution that helped you connect the Echo. Yes, I think if you first connect the Bluetooth it'll probably interfere with the setup process. But, once you've connected Echo to WiFi, should be able to connect it to your phone's Bluetooth as well.

Is your WiFi from a broadband? If yes, then you could connect many devices to the same WiFi, such as your phone and Echo (Alexa).

@@aditigupta2690 It seems your Echo dot is not connected to the WiFi and you've enabled Alexa on your Phone. Could you please have your phone away from Echo and then go to echo and ask Alexa so that your phone won't respond. Because it's also possible that Echo doesn't get a chance to respond if your phone responds first.

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, kzbin.infoUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
