Thanks for this instruction video. I have also been struggling with several other KZbin instruction videos without succes. Following your procedure, it worked immediately. I guess it was having the right type of library is important and also the use of the variable resistor in the back is important. The blocks should not remain visible but the screen should have a homogeneous green cuolor. Thanks.

Did you check the continuity of the wires which you have used to connect to the analog pins And then try to replace the i2c module

Look at the I2C LiquidCrystal folder in your Libraries folder and look at the spelling of the folder name. If it is spelled "LiquidCrystal_I2C" it is the wrong library for the display code you are using. You need fm's library from here : bitbucket.org/fmalpartida/new-liquidcrystal/downloads

Aviel Eliyahu check the i2c module if u have any shots it only happens if u have any short wirings that leads to the arduino ... it can even damage the arduino permanently .... or The I2c Lcd Backpack which u have is a damaged one these are the possible reasons

Problem solved I had 2 libraries in D: \ program files \ Arduino \ libraries, and I deleted them from that address. These were "LiquidCrystal" and "LiquidCrystal_I2C". Now Arduino allowed me to load the sketch and it runs without problems.

Do you have two tabs in your sketch? When you drag things into the environment, it adds it to the current sketch when you may want to simply open it.

This can be common. An assumption is that tabs are for new sketches. But they only open another file for some more code; for the same sketch. Meaning you only declare void setup() and void loop() once. So you may have declared this more than once leading to this error.
