How to - Connect an Inverter at your home with Battery Backup

As I was connecting an inverter at my shop to provide uninterrupted power supply for computers and 3D printers, I wanted to help you learn the method.

Mediamilan, Thanks for your very good video. I am using Luminous Zelio 1100 + Luminous 18048 150 AH battery. My house wiring was done separately for inverter purpose. Normal lighting and large appliance wiring are separate. But I noticed one thing, would like to ask your opinion. During power cuts, when home lighting runs thru inverter, large appliances like Refrigerator, oven, AC, washing machine, Mixer and Water heater don't work as they are separate, but there is power in both positive and negative outlet of each socket of appliances. Is this normal. Please share your thoughts.

Heavy appliances cannot work with Inverter. You need a High VA inverter and it will be very costly. So avoid Fridge, Washing machine and water heaters.

Noticed some sparks while connecting a replacement battery but that didn't bother me installing the new battery as the video clearly mentioned sparks are not to be feared. I did cut the main power to the inverter before installation.

If the Inverter is not working or get damaged, How the supply can work? The DBM have connected to the OUT-PUT of Inverter and main directly connected to Inverter not to the DBM,. Plz clear my doubts

The inverter has a reroute which works when the power comes. And when the power goes off it immediately starts from the backup battery.

You can touch + and - of a battery at the same time without a shock hazard if the battery voltage is less than about 48V. That's why telecom backup systems use 48V batteries--it's the safest voltage you can touch without harm. Higher voltages will overcome your skin resistance and put current through your body, which could kill you.

But at the time of a power cut if I had my AC , TV , refrigerator and other large appliances ON , then as soon as the power goes and back up comes from inverter, all these appliances will be load. which is too much. will it not damage the inverter ? why haven't you explained how to skip connection to the heavy appliances. you just connected the inverter output to the mains . we need to avoid some heavy load items . could you explain it

sir , please show how to connect invertot in house circuit having a 5kv home stablizer , correct way of establishing connection. After installing home stablizer my inverter has started lots of beeping sound and input on -off. this make lots of irritation. even 10 to 20 volt change in home stabliser make the invertor to flatuate and it starts beeping.

I am not not an electrical engineer or anything but would like to caution you on something - @1:51 you mentioned you are not touching both the wires the same time so it is safe. Now, what happens if your watch suddenly gets "unbuckled" and hangs down and touches the first wire while you are touching the second? Just a thought that came to my mind. So I guess that is one thing that people need to be careful about - what they are wearing. Am I correct?

Please advice: Electrician said he'll put 3 phase electric current system in a house which currently has 12 rooms (This could double in the future as upstairs is incomplete (12 rooms could be considered as 4 apartment with 1 seating room, 1 bed room, 1 kitchen / diner)). This is done in a village & power outage is quite common. electrician also adviced on stalling IPS for outage periods (some times it lasts for a week).
