Great idea to have shared - thanks - would be great if you actually have some sort of wiring diagram to show exactly what you did, as I’m sure many would find this very helpful - thx again and great to see folks coming up with such workarounds!

love the bonus - can you please send us a diagram of how you wired the batteries along with the model NUI batteries you have used please? Thank you for this video - you are the only one I know of who has successfully modified the CPX like this

The next video with the conclusion explains what I did. Simple connection, though.

Does it really only work for batterys without a bms? Even if you use the sabvoton controller or use all pins of the original cable in the 2nd battery? I guess a switch to bypass or deactivate the bms would be nice then. What happens if you use 2 batterys with same bms on the controllers? Only one battery gets "unlocked" and starts to provide power? Do you know how to activate the battery, what are the pins you are talking about? a dc/dc converter to power some 12v devices might come in handy. Also if you know how to activate the battery you dont have to disable to bms. I guess its the same reason why 3rd party chargers wont work. Maybe its possible with a 3rd party bms? I guess its really dangerous to run an extra 84ah without bms....

The original BMS of the CPX battery DOES NOT ALLOW any other battery but only the working one. It doesn't matter if you have bms or not. It just doesn't allow it, that's why it is non sensical. I had to get rid of the BMS on the second original battery otherwise I wouldn't be able to use it. The NIU batteries do have a BMS in them. It is there to stop the current flow if there is an imbalance or a short. I also tried to connect the original batteries together in one BMS but since the capacity is PREPROGRAMMED in the BMS and it will not measure actual voltage to determine the % SOC. Even at 65 volts the meter would show empty until you would reset the BMS. So, this had to be changed as a plan.

I did like you did in super soco ts. I also added a battery from an electric car battery. But there was a problem that when I stopped at an intersection and the batteries had unequal voltage and the larger one was charging the original battery, the charging icon came on and the moped did not want to move. So I put a button and a relay through which I disconnect the batteries before reaching the intersection and the charging icon disappears and I can move, greetings from Poland

Hello my friend. There was an update for the ecu that would solve this problem. One other solution is to disconnect the original battery and ride with the extra for a couple of km so that the voltage is a little bit lower than the original. Then you can reconnect it and continue. Of course you can get another ecu that is programmable and you can customize it. They were direct fit for that bike. Best regards

@@puntofato Thank you very much for your answer. Do you know to what voltage I can safely increase the battery voltage so that the controller does not burn out? In the previous scooter, I had a small additional battery, as you wrote, and when I accelerated to 45 km/h, I connected the additional relay in series and accelerated to 60 km/h. The Super Soco accelerates to 65 km/h, but I would like it to be more and with as little interference as possible.

@@tomeq4993 I would not bother with any of these hacks because there is a direct fit ECU in aliexpress that is DIRECT FIT and you can program it to your liking, If, however, you proceed with that kind of voltage hacks be aware that the alarm and the dc to dc are also connected to the same battery. So even if the ECU can handle the extra voltage, something other could not.

I have a CPX as well. I like your build! Thanks for posting these videos. Maybe one day I'll upgrade it too. I have 2 original batteries for it. How can i make those two work together instead of discharging one at a time? Greetings Tim from Holland. Ps, i love your cat 🐈

When you are ready to forget the warranty, you can open the case. Then you will disconnect the +B and the 5 pin plug from the board and connect it to a cable with the switch. From that another cable will be connected to the + of the controller. Keep in mind that there will be imbalance after a riding for a while.

@@puntofato thanks for sharing!!!🤟 do you know how much Amps stock ECU/inverter can handle? how changes charging? what are differences/gains in acceleration and top speed, vs drawbacks at range?
@puntofato
@puntofato 2 жыл бұрын
@@MartinLV. Stock is 90A. Even if you connect 10 batteries it will still draw 90 A from them. Charging with 2 is the same timewise. More capacity means more range and more power if you connect another controller that can take advantage of the power.

@@puntofato Sounds good puntofato. Thank you for your videos. I drove over 21000 km on the CPX now in one year with two batteries. And without any problems, only tyres, brakes and some bearings in the steering. So my warranty is over 😃. I will watch your videos and hopefully I will be able to find a way to get my CPX over 55 km/h in the Netherlands. Greetings from the Netherlands.
