Thanks! Well I do have a video that shows you how to set up kontakts outputs to allow you to do this which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gau6XqmeqpWjaM0 All you would need to do is create a bunch of MONO outputs for the individual kit pieces (kick, snare, toms, hi hat) then create some Stereo outputs for things like the Cyms, Overheads, Room mics. Set your outputs in GGD to the outputs you've created in Kontakt and then activate the outputs in the Cubase rack. Or you can just purely use stereo outputs. Instead of a mix of mono and stereo :)

Thanks for this video.However when you say that "by default when you create an instrument track in Cubase, it will be assigned to a midi channel" this does not occur for me, when following your tutorial, The Instrument track is created but no midi channel appears where it should appear.. So I just created 3 midi tracks, that each have a midi channel (1-3), and I dragged 3 patches into the Kontakt window, each with a different midi channel assigned to them (1-3 also) but when I click the Kontakt display keyboard when on any of the 3 midi tracks , only the top patch shows input of signal to it.. What am I doing wrong please?

Is there a way to get multiple instruments out of one nki? I bought the Sonuscore Orchestra Essential where you basically habe one patch where you can select a bunch of presets. Can i trigger different presets with different miditracks out if one .nki?

Great video! But one thing are confusing me with tha faders on the mixconsole. They are down and panned to the left. Is it not possible to control the volume with the faders when mixing? And why are they panned to the left? Thanks in advance!

Although you have created MIDI channels, the audio output will always go through the instrument track fader (this will control all the patches volume). If you want to have separate outputs you need to create them in kontakt, and assign the patches to the outputs. Ive done a video explaining how to do this which can be seen here kzbin.info/www/bejne/gau6XqmeqpWjaM0 The midi channels won't control the volume for the patches, its a little confusing. But hopefully that video will help.

PoundSound the output channels are showing up in Cubase, but can I hide them or should I hide the Midi channels. I use two different DAW:s and in Studio One it's a bit easier to understand because midi faders wont show up only patches, but you have to expand patches to channels if wanted in separate tracks. I mean in Cubase you got two "duplicated" tracks, a Midi and patches from Kontakt.

You can hide the midi tracks in the mixer, as you'll never ever need to touch them to be honest. Its only the midi tracks in the main window you'll be using. Cubase has a couple of odd workflows when compared to other DAWs.

Search for the kontakt.dll, and put it on strinberg vst folder

HALion6 and numerous other VST3 vsti are able to use multiples of 16x ports, the answer for this decades old question is that NI are too incompetent OR lazy to implement it in Kontakt - not exactly 'flagship' features for such an expensive sampler.

So, a few months later, and after watching tutorials for many hours, I am still stuck with Kontakt Player + Middle East instruments, trying in vain to connect one of my keyboards as midi-controller and also in vain to get Middle East Instruments into Cubase The only thing I can do is get Middle East instruments into Kontakt player, controlled by my mouse over the ridiculous virtual keyboard Additionally, each new attempt ends up being unable to use Cubase , since all those manipulations end up by disconnecting input/output I am totally lost. Any idea ? Does anyone knows a clear tutorial ? So far, only consolation is that i bought Middle East Instruments for $50 on black friday, not much money lost...but for nothing it's frustrating BTW : among the multiple tutorials I watched on You Tube , one stated clearly that "Kontakt" is very difficult to use Ideally, I would love being able to let down this thing and get a Roland 7 Integra module...but it s not cheap , as soon as i can, i think i would get it...unless a miracle happens to salvage my interaction with Native Instruments

I know this will sound silly, but just to eliminate any problems try the following. 1. Create an instrument track in Cubase and load Kontakt onto it. 2. Load Middle East instrument into Kontakt. 3. In the main project window of Cubase, go to the visibility inspector in the left zone and make sure you've selected your Roli 49 as the input, or set it to "all midi inputs" 4. Click arm for record or turn on monitoring for the track (the speaker icon) Start playing and see if you're getting any sound. Easy way to check if a MIDI signal is coming into Cubase, look at the transport bar, towards the bottom right you'll see two vertical bars. One is for Audio and the other is for MIDI input. If you see a green meter when playing keys you know Cubase can see the Roli and is receiving a MIDI signal. If there's no MIDI signal coming in then Cubase doesn't know your MIDI keyboard is connected. Make sure you've installed the Roli 49 drivers.

@@PoundSound thank you for your help. I will try all that. But point 1 is already an issue; I cannot load Kontakt in to Cubase 2.loading Middle East instruments into Kontakt is easy, actually that s the only thing I can do with NI then using the mouse to play on the virtual keyboard.

@@alainszyller615 Ahh right, if you can’t load kontakt into Cubase. So what version of Cubase are you using? Cubase only supports 64bit Vst plugins, so you need to make sure 64bit vst is installed. Once it’s installed you need to go to the plug-in manager and ensure you add the directory location so cubase knows where the .dll file is for Kontakt.

If kontakt is not showing in your drop down list, I'd suggest checking out installion video and how to get installed plugins and instruments to show in Cubase.

What if Kontakt isnt in the selection. Too many videos like this presume things. I have Kontakt but it wont show in my DAW (cubase 11) thats the problem. Why do all videos forget this important step ;) will someone do a great video on just how to get things like Kontack / Reactor in Cubase? thank you

The video doesn’t assume anything. It’s not a tutorial on how to install kontakt, its a tutorial on how to use it with Cubase. :) Check out my “how to install a vst plugin” video as it covers how to ensure cubase sees installed plugins and vi’s.
