It's great that Sony send you a free adapter to hook up your psvr on the ps5 for free. You simply add the the serial number of the vr decoder unit and the adapter get sent you. Also the aim controller and move controlers work on the ps5 from previous gen

For anyone asking, it takes between 2 and 3 weeks from submitting serial on website to getting adapter.

I submitted it in december and only got it yesterday. There were a lot of issues, first I couldn't fill in the online form because it wouldn't let me, then when I called customer support I had to call back a few times because the first TWO TIMES the person "forgot" to add my request to their system. So yeah, after enough hassles calling customer support like 5 different times I finally got my cable. For many people this is something that has taken months, not weeks.

In case it hasn't been said, selecting to restart the system doesn't pick up the camera. For some reason you have to power it off and then manually hit a button to power it back on.

A friendly PSA. The website doesn't ship to America so if you call the sony help line during operating hours and provide the serial numbers for both the ps5 and psvr box then they will ship to America free of charge. Its just the website that doesn't have US as an option.

I was getting excited until I know that all of my USB slots are taken now. Goodbye two extended storage unless someone can confirm that USB extenders that give additional slots can be used just like with the PS4.

Don’t you need to put 2 HDMI’s in the ps5? Mine is saying I need to put 2 in each, ps5 to tv, ps5 to vr, and vr to tv, but with all the USB slots already taken up, what do I do? Also the chargers for the DS4 and DS5 are different, so won’t I need an adapter for that?

Vr to ps5, ps5 to tv. Theres only 1 hdmi on the ps5 so I can't see how you would think you need 2. You don't need an adapter for your ps4 controllers. Just use the ones you've been using for your ps4

Using the psvr on ps5 looks much better, that slight blurriness that used to be there in some games in the far background is now gone. Been playing Skyrim and No Man's Sky on my ps5 in VR and the difference is amazing 👌

I know how to get a ps5 controller working on psvr: you need: A ps5 controller(obviously) A smartphone clip for the controller An rgb led lightstrip 1.Glue the lightstrip to the back of the mount 2.place the ps5 controller in the mount 3.set the light to the corresponding colour the ps camera needs to track 4. Connect battery pack to lightstrip and you're Good to go

Hi. Everything is setup as you have done. Processing unit is lit white. I can see output to my TV. Headset shows blue lights on back to when powered on. Only difference is I don't have Playstation VR section in Accessories settings. And no screen displaying inside the headset. Please advise if you've come across this. Thanks!

For me it’s the third wire. So you have your HDMI wires, the power cord and the other one. That little wire for me is what made the PlayStation VR settings pop up in accessories. You may just neee to get a new wire or re-position it until it pops up. For me, I used another controller to help position the wire upwards.

He's making it sound more complicated than it is, I got my cable yesterday and the setup is exactly the same as any other time you're setting up your psvr. The only difference is instead of plugging in the camera to the back of the ps5, you first plug in the camera into the adapter and then plug in the adapter to the ps5. That's literally the only extra step.
