So I did this, I have my fire edition television hooked to a Bose sound bar. The only thing I didn't like was it removes all the sound features from a fire TV. Just curious if you would use the aux to rca hookup would all them sound features come back??

What I didn't realize is for the auxiliary cord to work you need to turn your TV volume all the way up then you can control the volume with the soundbar. I turned my TV speakers off , not sure if I had to but the soundbar works great that way

just press long bottom + search for aux manually and it will be connected to your audio jack 3.5mm instead of no remote control with you. It works for my computer... Try it.

if i'm doing it this way (becasue I guess the 5.1 sounbar I got from Walmart isnt' actually surround sound) should I set my ps5 and xbox to linier PCM? dobly digital is louder, but I don't know if that's what I should set it to. I'm assuming the 3.5 jack only does stereo. does dolby digital also do stereo?

So my tv does not have hdmi arc nor optical. If I use an 4k compatible hdmi audio extractor to connect my audio via optical, will the 4k work display work fine? Or will it not be able to display 4k resolution? I really don’t want to get another sound bar that has 4k passthrough.

The biggest advantage is that with HDMI your TV remote would control the soundbar (volume, power, etc)... However, if your TV is more than 3-5 years old it may not have that capability.

I have a new LG 32GK850G and its looking like this is my only option. I have it hooked up to my GPU with a DisplayPort and the only other ports it has is an HDMI, not really sure if it's ARC. It also has USB ports but I have no idea how to use those. My question is, how would I have a sound bar work seamlessly across my PC and a console? (Nintendo Switch or PS4)

Displayport technically carries an audio signal, however it is not well implemented like HDMI, so you may have issues getting sound to your LG TV. If your TV has a 3.5mm output then you can use that with the soundbar, and it will output whatever sound the TV is playing regardless of the source. If your TV is relatively new than it almost certainly has HDMI ARC. I think your best bet would be to hook up your console and PC both with HDMI cables, and hook up the soundbar with HDMI ARC... that way it will switch automatically.

The actual audio quality will be inperceivabley different; however 3.5mm is stereo only, whereas ARC can do 5 or 7 or more channels of audio.

Just bought a sound bar which came with the AUX cable, Unfortunately, my LG TV does not have an AUX output. Apparently , my other option is through the USB port so I have just ordered a lead for this. Hopefully it works.

If your TV only has regular HDMI and aux... Then aux would be your only option. The good thing with using an aux cable from your TV, and plugging in your mi box and PlayStation to the TV directly, is that you will not have to switch inputs on the sound bar... The TV will send it whatever sound it is receiving.
