This will be the perfect solution for hiding my messy looking upscalers and switches, thank you!

hi, great video. thanks for posting. I have a projector screen, with projector and Yamaha AV receiver. All the gadgets are in a closet back of the room. Any idea how to get a IR setup to use one remote in my theater room? In my old home 1 year back i used to use a logitech universal remote but it had its shortcomings. So I was thinking of using an IR receiver setup and ended up with your video. Appreciate your help.

Thanks! Our hobby is really short of great all-in-one remote solutions, especially ones that are less expensive.

Thanks for the recommendation. I posted another comment but it looks like KZbin didn’t like it for some reason. It didn’t have a link in it. I used one of your links. Plus i added that there is an wireless RF kit they sell as well that probably is good for Home Theaters.

Thanks! Sometimes KZbin eats comments. No idea why.

@@Techthusiasm I bought some IR kits here but being an American with American gear in the theater I guess there is a RF frequency difference.

I've been trying to figure this out myself, my Denon has a remote in 3.5mm Jack on the back, do I just pulg one of those little ir lights into it or do I need the ir repeater like you have. So annoying that receivers still use ir instead of a radio. I can control the freaking thing with my phone but not the remote.
@Techthusiasm2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, standard remotes need to some kind of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi now. IR on the wire is just a voltage converted to light by the end emitter. So, on the back of the Denon you would plug in a 3.5 mm end off the IR system. That's how I'm doing my Anthem right now. I have the IR receiver taped just under my TV and then instead of terminating into an emitter, the 3.5 mm wire just plugs into the IR input on the back of the Anthem directly.

Nice job all around. How did you mount the tv flush to the wall? Is it a special recessed cabinet mount or was it framed like that? Thx
@Techthusiasm Жыл бұрын
Thanks! My TV is mounted into a framed inset built as part of the wall. It hangs on a wall mount inside that inset.

great set up and video. Looiks like this setup will only extend IR capability within a LAN. Any idea if this will work over WAN? You'd have to have a way to assign a port number to the IR signalling, then port forward in the router. I can't find anything that will do that, other than one product sold in the UK that's pretty pricy.
@Techthusiasm2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this method uses wired Ethernet cables to extend IR. I'm not aware of a way to do it wirelessly, but I suspect a solution is available with some searching.
@mikenichols54732 жыл бұрын
@@Techthusiasm Hi. I meant transmitting the IR signals over the WAN (internet), not wireless (WLAN).
@Techthusiasm2 жыл бұрын
Oh, I've not even considered how to do that, sorry.

Thanks for your informative video , IR parts list and hookup! I have one question, does your 'IR setup' control all the devices,' .i.e., DVD, CD., cable box ,etc., on-off, mute, volume and most importantly the selection and functionality for all devices plugged into your Anthem A/V Receiver. Thanks for your insight.
@Techthusiasm2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! My IR setup goes from the receiver directly into my STR. So, it’s only good for controlling that, and I only use it for volume. I could do more with it though by putting a multiple output IR flasher in the rack, but I don’t need IR control like that.
@JLRJ2 жыл бұрын
So far I don’t need repeaters but will refer to your video if I ever need reference. How’s the STR? Did you figure it out? Have you ever tried the nVidia Shield?👴🏽
@Techthusiasm2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! STR is rocking. I figured out the reset issue. Videos coming soon. It was related to my trigger wire setup I think. I’ve used a shield before but don’t own one.

Jaremy, great video! What HDMI baluns did you use for your video? I presume that those you used are compatible with the Bafx products.?
@Techthusiasm2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I gave up on baluns when we got to 4K as I found they usually are always behind current HDMI specs. So I just use long fiber optic cables. RUIPro from Amazon.
@alixcharles92562 жыл бұрын
@@Techthusiasm Thanks for the prompt reply. I just got my house wired with cat6 and was hoping that you would know what baluns to use that are compatible with the Bafx IR devices you used. Incidentally, I have installed an OREI balun with ARC which seems to work when the AV is already on. The AV is in a remote location and I was looking for a way to turn it on maybe using IR. Thanks again. Thanks again.
