This is the literally the only video on KZbin that actually plays an example of the semi-hollow/hollow guitar feedback.. All over the internet people talk about it, but never play an example for reference. Thank you for this lol

I had the same problem and I just workout a way without have to hold the strings and just work fine. Tips : - Put each effect on your pedal board way down so you can increase at the amp. - Use a compressor pedal It will work allright with all types of effects, but if you have or want to had analog pedals like '' The Big Muff'' or ''Fuzz face'' it won't work. My advise is to when you want to use that pedals to change the guitar. I had a Fender Squier just for the songs that I use the Muff. Great video, thanks and hope I can help to.

THANK YOU - I just rebuilt a marginal CRATE V32 PALOMINO to a really nice specimen that sounds killer EXCEPT when I used my Joe Pass hollow body jazz box - It had uncontrollable feedback making one of my favorite guitars unusable. Now I see its not the amp and its not the guitar (in general), the pups just needs a little tweeking. I saw your video how to POT the pups too. EXCELLENT INFO !! Thanks again.

Put the foam protector thing you get when you buy a pickup in the pickup cavity. You could also stuff a sock in their to stop the rattling.

You need to check out Glenn Schwartz , he has a hollow body custom with one 216 hot stuff pickup . his Controlled Feedback was unreal . dipped the potted pickup in melted bee's wax before installing .

+Nicholas Manoukian Yep. I like to think of it as the secret dungeon basement of musical creation. Some shrunken heads and chains would really spruce it up, though.

+Suburban Havoc could you do the same sort of thing for a full hollow body? because i want to do metal on my hollow body but its getting to much feedback
@suburbanhavoc49979 жыл бұрын
I've used fully hollow guitars for heavier stuff before. Sounds good, but it takes a lot more control with the volume knob. It's probably best to stick to thinlines and semi-hollows, but I think a full sized hollowbody would work just fine with the right tweaks and enough practice. I believe Brent Hinds from Mastodon has been known to use a Gretsch Country Gentleman for some of his lead work.

? Is there anything that you can wrap the pickups with that would stop the feedback?

I like to mute both the bridge and the neck. Sometimes I just turn my volume all the way down if I'm not playing.

I use single dumbucker w shielding, total 3 pin output. Gotta have balanced input to amp (ground is shield). But it kicks the shit, totally worth my welding time. I tried to off the shield and I just decide better to sacrifice some range but get less noize to hear the guitar.

Great video and beautiful guitar! I want to get a "thin line tele" but I am not 100% sure....Why do they call it a "thin line" exactly? Just because it's thinner?
@suburbanhavoc49978 жыл бұрын
+surgeyX It's kind of a misnomer on those. A thinline used to be a fully-hollow guitar with a thin body(like an ES-330), but the Fender's actually a semihollow.

how is posible to take down the treble and all the sounds arround the 6-8k ?
@suburbanhavoc49976 жыл бұрын
Probably best to just use your tone knob or a graphic EQ.
@jwandhistools5 жыл бұрын
@@suburbanhavoc4997 Try running your treble at 0. more than likely you will hear yourself better, your tone will be better, you wont drive people insane, and if not you can adjust to taste. Every amp put out too much treble it seems. I can remember being stuck in a little practice shack with 2 or 3 guitar players with strat and twins with the treble all the way up. I will run a strat at bass 5-7. mid 8, and treble maybe 2. Human ears like it better than lots of treble.

Is it possible to get the same effect with a semi hollow LAMINATE guitar?
@ethanfoulkmusic39226 жыл бұрын
Please respond this is very important you are the only one on youtube that touches on this subject
@suburbanhavoc49976 жыл бұрын
As in laminate vs. carved top? It's actually better to use a laminate guitar in some cases, since the laminate is less responsive than a carved top. It makes the feedback more controllable. My Dot is a laminate guitar.

long story short, completely limit how and where you play relative to your amp. this is exactly why when playing high gain a solid body is preferred. it gives the player more freedom
@ofadetergentsud6 жыл бұрын
Just get a good noise suppressor. lol

Some serious 60 cycle hum going on, that's almost as annoying as the feedback

How about with an acoustic electric? My current solution is to place the amp face down on my bed with a wall of pillows surrounding it. (dont laugh ok? i have to resort to this for lack of a SINGLE ELECTRIC GUITAR IN THE HOUSE)
@suburbanhavoc49977 жыл бұрын
I don't really have much experience with acoustic-electrics. Have you tried a feedback buster? It's just a rubber plug that covers the sound hole.
@danielmoylan30337 жыл бұрын
I've tried that sort of thing with a blanket. The only problem is that my guitar sounds like a banjo (that's what causes the bango sound). I'll try rubber.

Hi, what ive done was just lowering the lows. When i lowered them enough guitar stoped to resonate.
