You can read about the cable ATOMCAB018 here: firmware.atomos.com/TXT/NJV/FirmwareReleaseNotes-NINJAV-10-5-ZCAM-300620.pdf atomOS confirms that it will only be 40cm or about 15 inches. You can pre-order the cable now if you google it. It's $65. They show shipping July 2020 but nothing yet.

Hi there!! I have a quick question!! So... can the atoms ninja v record ProRes422(not ProRes Raw) Since the Cfast card is crazy expensive, I would like to save some money! If recording ProRes 422 on ninja v is possible!! Anyways I love your contents and anamorphic one as well!!

Hey mate! Thank you :) it is possible to record ProRes 422 with the Ninja V but not automatically. You have to set the right hdmi Settings you wanna have. For example you want 4K 50fps than you have to switch the HDMI format on the Zcam to 4K UHD P50 and don’t forget to disable display Info. :)

Only thing you cant change the shutter angle only in shutter speed.

Do you need the control cable if you just want to record Prores Raw without having camera control? My NinjaV detects the raw signal but when I put in the code from Atomos for raw, it doesn't change the codec to raw.

Hey Joe you can record ProRes Raw without the control cable. Check again the latest atomos firmware update & plug of and back in the HDMI cable

Hi, your video is what got me started, thanks very much:) I have a challenge I am not able to solve and I wonder if you might have som insight? My firmware is updated on the Ninja V, my RAW access code is activated. On the camera I choose 4K 50p and ProRes 422 (LT,HQ it does not matter), the monitor input says HDp25? In many cases the monitor only reads p25. When I set the camera to H265p50 the monitor reads HDp50. I do not understand why I cannot record in p50. Thank you so much in advance for any solutions/insight.

Hi, Thanks for the great video. Quick question. Can I connect to LANC control port on ZCAM E2-M4 or E2-S6 instead of USB-C ? ie. LANC on Ninja V to LANC on E2 camera. Keeping USB-C free is useful to record with SSD disks directly.

according to other videos it works with an UART to LANC cable. Doesn't make any sense to use the worthy USB-C type port here. I don't get why these incredibly overpriced monitors do not even have wifi, which would enable you to control everything wireless. You CAN GO WIRELESS, this is technically possible. An iPhone works...

Check in the ninja V settings if your control setting is set to camera control and then reboot everything

Yes that‘s possible! Press and hold FN + OK button. But it is very very small :D Better use your phone with the App as a backup, with Firmware 0.98 it is very stable.

That shorter camera control cable is out now. I just ordered one from B & H in New York. I will be trying this camera control out on my ZCAM E2C camera to see if that works properly in ProRes RAW HQ. Also, if you are getting the Kangaroo Symbol indicating frame drops have you checked your HDD plugged into your Ninja V ? Perhaps it is too slow for the data rate of ProRes RAW ? Maybe this is the cause of your issue ?

Not until now, maybe they add the functions in future firmware updates. For now Camera Control is only available with Ninja V atomOS 10.50 or higher

Sandro, have you tried using the ninja as just a monitor and outputting log onto it (still recording internally or via an external ssd drive? I would love to see if you can have the ninja convert the log file into a recognisable picture style - rather than that milky washed out nothingness. :)

Have you tried loading ZCAM native Lutz while filming? It remedies the white wash but still records in LOG or RAW. Unless you already know this, then nevermind 😅
