Sorry to burst your Bubble dude. It took me a split to solve that gap issue. You know those rubber seals That you replace on garden hoses. Just use one of those rubbers and slide that around the battery and then put the battery inside the case problem soft.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't notice a decline in brightness but most of my flashlight was using a ni-mh rechargeable which are lower voltage anyway.

Is this safe? Or there is a safer alternative? I read some stuff about litium and 18650 that now inm bit scared. I have some FST 18650 2600mah

as long as you buy quality batteries, 18650 are still good way to go. or if you're afraid of fire, get quality Li ion batter. expensive though are they ;)

These 18650 cells are removed from a laptop battery pack, The retail 18650 varies in capacity, button-top vs flat-top, and protected vs unprotected type.

Button top is a protected battery. Flat top is not. Button top will cut off early whereas flat top you can drain a long ways. Trade off - longer lifespan with button top or longer use but shorter lifespan out of flat top.

Hi. Nice work but is it okay without any current limiter? I believe the current draw is greater than 3x aaa which will make it brighter n will destroy the led.

The led will only pull the current that it needs. The battery having a higher amp draw rating only means that it can supply more amps to a larger load without cell damage.
