Dear Sir- Can you kindly answer a question, please? I edited a video in 4K before I realized it should have been done in 1080. But- here's the catch... there are lots of zoomed in clips in the timeline. ---- I realize now that that reduced my quality. -- To switch to 1080 can I just modify the settings? Or, is the damage done on those zooms and I have to fix another way? PS I'm happy to pay you for your advice.
@StupidRaisinsАй бұрын
No need to pay! Yes, just change your settings and remove the zoom on those clips. BTW, here are some free plugins you might find helpful: stupidraisins.com/all-star-pack/

I cant seem to get the unsharpen effects to work correctly.. It shows in the UI after dropping it my effects folder and restarting FCP, but when i hover over it i get the dreadful red missing plugin. .and it happens when i drag it to a clip as well.. thoughts? (i'm on v 1.5.4 )
@StupidRaisins Жыл бұрын
Hi there. I think you wrote the version number incorrectly. Double check your FCP version and letme know.

Silly question, can you zoom in and reframe 4k footage on a 4k timeline? Or would that have to be on a 1080 timeline? Then I am assuming youd export in 1080 as well, not go back to 4k? Thanks!
@StupidRaisins10 ай бұрын
Yes, you can zoom in on 4K footage in a 4K timeline but you will lose quality. If you zoom in on 4K footage in a 1080p timeline you will not lose quality as long as you don't zoom in more than 200%.

Is exporting a 4k timeline project as a 1080p file the same thing? Or do you have to make it a 1080p timeline? I'm not entirely sure how to confirm that my exports are in 1080 for social medial uploads
@dylanlundgren Жыл бұрын
Why not just click master file export, and select computer and export as 1080p? Is that not the same thing? It's confusing how all of export options have different file sizes, it leaves me wondering which one is optimal
@StupidRaisins Жыл бұрын
You can do it that way and it should export as 1080p. You can check by opening the file with Quicktime Player and pressing Command + I to see the info.

No one talks about issue in Final Cut about blur that comes at downgrading 4K to HD when you drag a 4K into HD project.

hi, is this to make it so its easier to edit, would you change it back to 4K after?
@StupidRaisins Жыл бұрын
There are a lot of reasons but I don't think most will convert it to 1080p to edit and then back to 4K. You'll lose video quality. A lot of people convert it to 1080p, edit and then export it as 1080p.
