Hope u figured it out. There is a setting for platen gap in the printers properties settings. Try setting it to wide or wider.

Yeah I just put a couple pieces of film or sublimation papier it should help

So you know, when the printer boots up from power off it checks the light levels of the page detection sensor and paper width sensor on the print head. This is good to know because if you're having trouble with either paper feed or width detection and you make changes to the printer or sensors to make it work, you might get tripped up again on the next power on of the printer. Some people flip the width detector on the print head or black it out. The page detection sensor can be a pain for transparent sheets, though.
