Your video was SO helpful! I have had this chandelier in a closet for probably 8 years because I didn't want the permanence & cost of an electrician to re wire it. It looks perfect. You're amazing!

Hi! Loved your video. Just a note that removing the plastic from the wire is “stripping” and wire strippers are very helpful. What you’re calling attaching wire is actually splicing. Great video though; I loved your total joy when it worked; I think we all can relate.👍

Hi, just a short note. Those little white caps are twist on and twist off. I don't think they need to be squeezed. Just twist tight to be secure. And the green wire that's not used doesn't need to be clipepd. Just put another wire nut on it (the little cap), and you're good to go! Otherwise, great video! Didn't realize I didn't need to buy a swag kit if I already have a chain, but it did have a switch included, and that is helpful! Thanks!

Hi from Canada Thank you for your wonderful tutorial! I have watched several and yours is the most helpful in how you show closeups of each step. My dad (gone 25 years now) was a handyman too and I know he’d be proud of me learning this. I bet yours would too .

Nice vid! I found this video by searching for how to install a chandelier with power cable. I'm connecting my IKEA PS 2014 pendant lamp to the cealing in my apartment that doesn't have a connection in ceiling. From what I've came up with, I can use two toggle bolts to attach the chandelier to ceiling using the included plate. From the comments in vid, looks like I need to keep the ground wire instead of just capping it. But, with that being said, can I just splice a 3 prong extension cord (to connect the ground along with the other two) and connect it?

does this work with any mountable ceiling lights? i've been looking at some flush ceiling lights for my apartment because my apartment is so poorly lit. would i also be able to do this with several small ceiling lights if i have enough outlets?

I only do this with chandeliers, I would suggest to proceed with caution!

Would still have connected the ground as the chandelier is made of metal and would offer protection from electric shocks
@richw4563 жыл бұрын
No problem. I’d always advise connecting the ground(earth) wire up to anything electrical that has metal parts particularly if they’re exposed because in the event of a fault the electricity takes the quickest route to ground and without the ground wire connected to try and route it to ground your body becomes the quickest way for it to pass and that’s how you get shocked or worse electrocuted
@mommyj65863 жыл бұрын
@@theposhacademy Great Video! Thank You. The outlet you will be plugging this into as all outlets these days are grounded already. I do not believe you need to connect the ground wire in this case. Great Job : )
