It didn't work for me. I'm pretty sure I got the wiring correct, and my computer recognizes it as a USB device, the laser turns on, but it keeps saying something malfunctioned. E: My PS2 mouse also has different letters on it, it goes from left to right: D C V G, instead of: D- D+ G V.

This assumes the mouse already has usb compatibility inside it. You need a converter PCB to convert the signal. I've been looking around for some kind of driver software that could make this work though.

because your device it's designed by original IC to originally cable.. if you device is PS2 cable so can't change to USB... because ic of your device was programed PS2 cable.. not USB

If you stop the video at 8:32 you can tell where it has been split and edited . The cable is now coiled up and none of the solder wires are in the same place they were a few seconds before stop the video again at 8:33 and there is something red over the wires . The space where he soldered the red black and greed wires is now empty and the black wire is now on the 3rd hold down . They changed the mouse in the edit part at 8:32 in the video . Shame on you Electro sight for making a fake video .

At 4:36 you can see that the port is actually a usb port by seeing on the pcb where the wires are connected that means this mouse was never a ps/2 mouse also after a few seconds when he flips the board you can see all the solder was clean except the part where the wires were connected which means he soldered a ps/2 cable on the mouse by removing the factory USB cable thus this was a USB mouse already. SUCH A FAKE VIDEO

That is not a PS2 mouse because if it was PS2 it would show 5 wire but it shows here only 4 wire that is +,-,d-,d+ on usb

PS/2 only has four wires. GND, Vcc, CLK and Data. The conversion is not fake but it requires the mouse IC to support both USB and PS/2 as converting them passively is impossible. ICs supporting both were quite common back in the days USB became popular and I guess many cheap mice still use these chips.

There are passive adapters available that do the same (usually the other way round). On these ICs Clock is D+ and Data is D-. They can easily sense the difference because PS/2 uses 5V pull-ups on the data/clock lines while USB has weak pull-downs. I hate such videos with no explanation just made for clicks...

This only works with mice that support USB and PS/2 which were quite common when USB became popular and I guess many cheap mice still use these IC. There are pasive adapters available that do the same. The soldering on the cable is different because the cable probably is soldered by workers at the factory while the reset of the pcb is soldered by machines. The video is not fake. But it's essential that the mouse already supports USB and PS/2 so it's not universal. I hate such videos with no explanation just made for clicks...
