Thank you!!! I just changed my settings:) I converted to GS for this school year and am so glad I did! My school district is MSoft school. I learned that anything I create in PPT on my work computer is not mine but actually the school districts (I do save files on a drive but sometimes I forget to do it) so that it why I mainly switched so that I can be the owner of my slides. Also I am a MAC person at home all the way and love that I can work on my slides from any device-no problems. I am so glad I switched! Thank you! Love your Podcast!

Great tip! Since having to teach virtually last year I had no choice but to create all new lessons in Google slides. MCPS gave us new 15 in Chrome Books then and we couldn't access our former My Document files from our PC Microsoft files. Most of my lessons were created on the software for the Promethean White Board. The software wasn't on our new laptops so I was forced to learn how to learn create everything in Google suites. Now we are back in school they took back the Chrome Books and gave us new Dell laptops however not as big as the former laptops. With these we can access both platforms from home. ILong story short I now creat only using Google slides.

It all depends on the animation! If it is an animation that is also available in Google, it will transfer. If not, it will default as a different animation.

For the PowerPoint autosave you need to have Office 365, and if you have Office 365 it will do the same thing. But it costs to use.

Thanks, question: If students submit voice over ppt or google slides how can the audio easily transfer? I have had significant issues with audio conversions. Especially when students collaborate on a presentation in google slides - each student needs to give me permission to listen to audio! This is frustrating and doesn't always work.

I created a PPt slideshow in memory of my mother who passed a few years ago. The slideshow has 212 photos. I want to share it with my siblings and relatives but some of them don’t use PPT. I followed the procedure you recommended to upload the slideshow into a Google slideshow but i got a message which read “ Conversion failed: too large. is there something i can do to rectify this situation or can you recommend another way of sharing the slideshow with others?

For one, you can make Google Slides available offline so you can still access them without internet. But, if it is still a PP file, you wouldn’t have that option while it’s in your Drive (at least for now).
