Thanks for this. It's very helpful. But I am trying to solve the opposite problem, and wondering if you can suggest anything. I want to use my vintage receiver to broadcast to remote bluetooth speakers. I want to play my vinyl, tape, cds on my stereo and send it to bluetooth speakers somewhere else in the house. Many thanks!

I’ve never dabbled with Bluetooth transmitters, just these little receivers. But I would imagine that someone would make a product like that. Sounds like a great idea.

do i need a separate blue tooth connector for tape deck, cd player and turntable or will one blue tooth device run everything assuming all components are wired back to the receiver?
@TheKeymaster3165 ай бұрын
Your tape deck, CD player and turntable hook directly to the receiver. The Bluetooth device is just used to stream music from your phone.

Any other bluetooth adapter you would recommend? Your link doesn’t work anymore and I’m trying to find something similar. Was yours male usb by female RCA bluetooth?
@TheKeymaster316 Жыл бұрын
The one I used was USB. You plugged it into a charging cube. The other end of the adapter had a 3.5mm jack that you plugged a RCA to 3.5mm to. I’ll see if I can find a comparable one on eBay or Amazon. I still use these in my garage.

I can’t copy the link for some reason, but go to eBay and in the search bar, type”USB 2.1 Wireless Bluetooth 3.5mm AUX Audio Stereo Music Car Receiver Adapter PC”. You should see one listed for $6.65 with free shipping.

Could you do just jack it in directly to an old iPhone 5? Where did you get the cord? Did it come with the bluetooth?
@TheKeymaster3162 жыл бұрын
You absolutely do that! I actually have that setup in my garage using an old iPhone 5. I got the cord from Amazon. You could possible find it at a local Walmart, but it’s 3.5mm to RCA patch cord. I just looked on Amazon and they have several for around $8.

Can you show the black cord better or explain where to get it?

Do a Google search for 3.5mm to RCA cable and you’ll find the right one. 👍🏻

How is the volume controlled? From the reciever volume control or the phone?
@TheKeymaster3163 жыл бұрын
Both actually. You can control the volume by the phone if you want to sit across the room. Just cut the receiver up to about as high as you would ever want it and then use the phone volume. But to be honest. It does sound the best with the phone cut up 3/4 or higher and then use the receiver to cut up or down. Too low of a signal from the phone and you definitely lose sound quality.

Can i do the same thing with a vintage amp technics su7700
@TheKeymaster3166 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. You basically need 3 items: USB power brick (like the one that comes with the iPhones/iPods, a USB Bluetooth adapter and a 3.5mm to RCA patch cord. Links to each item are above in the description!

Man, sorry to hear that. Did I confuse you somewhere in the video? I’d be glad to help.

@@TheKeymaster316 - you spent way way too much time explaining what a switched plug was and not enough on how you actually installed and set up the attachment, synced it and how it sounds.
@TheKeymaster3165 ай бұрын
@@dougshearer3556 sorry about that. It was a spur of the moment video at the time and I could have done a better job of making it. The biggest thing I hate is that I couldn’t play any music because of the idiotic copyright protection issues on KZbin. But it’s a very basic setup. You buy the little Bluetooth adapter online. You find yourself a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Plug the 3.5mm end into the Bluetooth adapter. Find yourself a USB cube that will allow you to plug the adapter into it. If you’re able, use the “switched” plug on the back of the receiver, as it will turn the adapter on once the receiver is turned on. You can run the RCA cables to either the CD or Tape input. Older 70’s units won’t have a CD input but will have at least one to two cassette inputs. Once the adapter is powered up, look on your phone’s Bluetooth settings and you’ll see something available for connection down at the bottom. I have two different types: one says YET-M1 and the other says H163, so they’re very generic. Connect to it and you should now be able to stream any sort of audio off of your phone onto the receiver. Make sure your volume is up on the phone and adjust the receiver accordingly. Hope this helps.
