Now I just miss home so bad. I FINALLY found some Taylor Ham near my now home in TX,. Found in a high end grocer, and nearly burst into tears, after I squealed like a child. It was worth every penny. Half the staff had no clue what I was asking for, then, a lady from Jersey pointed it out. THANK YOU for posting this.

:) make sure you pop it on the bread directly so it soaks in otherwise if its on the meat or cheese it may just slide out still as you biter into it

I lived in NJ for many years but I wasn't a native - and didn't realize that Taylor ham was a NJ thing. I probably had it a few times but I'm not really breakfast eater. However, I did have a close friend who often spoke fondly of Taylor ham so it brings back memories. He smoked a lot of weed and Taylor ham was his go-to for the munchies.

I’m from central south Jersey and yes it’s porkroll. Call it taylor and you’ll get shanked here. Case’s pork roll is the best. Another porkroll thing for you to try, try a Trenton burger. It’s a cheeseburger with a slice of porkroll on it instead of bacon. Porkroll and cheese great as well. Great video.

I’ve made pork roll a couple of times. I always tried to cut the slits after it was curling in the pan. Good tip to cut the slits before hand, I’ll try that next time.

Here in Northen California they make them in every restraunts that serve breakfast sandwiches. They always make you how you want your eggs on it. Some people have scrambled eggs with cheese so the yoke don't make a mess. They call them breakfast sandwiches and I think they use ham, bacon, Canadian bacon

A Pork roll was my favorite meal like maybe 3 times a week when I was 17/18 years old and working at a nursing home. Whatever the residents ate, we ate in the cafeteria. Mmm pork roll and chocolate milk.

cover the top of the pan too melt the cheese I add a splash (very little is needed) of water to really get a good nice melt. Cheddar will melt like a dream

Even though it's called "Taylor Ham" in northern Jersey, it is labeled "Taylor Pork Roll". I agree that it is salty enough by itself, and that the "Taylor" brand is best. Try a slice or two as a change-of-pace from bacon with eggs.

That's a Jersey sandwich? We call that a breakfast sandwich it served at every restraunts that serve breakfast in the morning in California. I grew up on fried baloney and cheese with all the fixing that came out the garden, that was something me a my brother's and sister's ate everyday after school. I won't eat baloney any more or peanut butter and jelly. I ate it so much. There is way to many other foods I enjoy in my older age.

And just FYI, if you eat non organic and etc you run the risk of health issues with chemicals and whatever else they put in the crap.
