I grew up on that kind of corned beef. You have to change the water at least 3 times as u boil it to get rid of saltiness. Great spread Q. Blessing to you n your family.
@MzTrapMusic6 жыл бұрын
Tip. When making corned beef. Instead of boiling it for a long time straight through; keep switching out the water. So for example it comes to a boil let that roll for fifteen minutes then drain and add fresh water. Continue to do so and it should kill the salt.
@matthewmaida89616 жыл бұрын
Really I went to culinary school for 4 years I never heard of changing the water every 15 minutes
@shenglongisback46886 жыл бұрын
We only change the water twice growing up it comes out not salty
@illtellulatta036 жыл бұрын
I'm Irish and have eaten corned beef my whole life and have never heard of anyone do this.
@shenglongisback46886 жыл бұрын
illtellulatta03 different type of cornbeef like quang explain in the vid...the type most ppl eat is the boneless shoulder cut...in the pacfic islands we had they type that was in the video its very salty to perserved it for longer storeage as we didnt have many frigdes back in the day And in a can aswell which wasnt salty..even my good irish friend like you said the same thing too me..she was surpised it was also in a tin can
@saigeconnolly4 жыл бұрын
Whyyyyy would you want to take out the salt exactly? That’s kind of the BEST PART
@cora_kathlena6 жыл бұрын
It all looks amazing!!! Next time you should try Irish soda bread to dip instead of baguette. It's 4 cups of flour, 1tsp baking powder, 1tsp salt, and 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups of buttermilk and that's it. Oven 425. Bake for 40 min. You do not need to knead this dough you mix until it comes together in a shaggy mass and then you put in on a pan and cut a deep cross and then bake.

I roast the corned beef in a cup of chicken stock and about 6 pats of unsalted butter on top. 320 F for 3 hours in large casserole covered tight with foil. After 3 to 3.5 hours check for done ness. If soft enough Add two cups water and arrange cabbage wedges small red potatoes and carrot on top and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and more butter. Cover and roast till all veggies nice and tender.

Stoked to make this stew for st Paddy’s this year! My family is Irish and I’ll say that while we love our soda bread, French bread with stew is always awesome. Well done! And yeah I don’t think that’s proper corned beef. It shouldn’t come out so tough. A good corned beef is nice and fatty and while it is salty, it shouldn’t be overwhelming ....oh and next time, don’t forget the horse radish sauce!!!

Quick tip for the next time you are gonna make baked potatoes, take a freezing bag, fill the potatoes in with all the spices and oil, then shake! Then you wont get it on the table top, and none on your fingers! Its very effective! Cheers from a fan from Denmark!

The salt beef u used is what is traditionally used by us back in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland... it’s what we ate a number of times a year growing up back home! Traditionally u are suppose to rise the meat and soak it at least over night to remove a lot of the saltiness...I’m so sad u didn’t like it....I LIVE for that meal... our friend who returned from Mexico last summer asked me to make it for him a few times lol oh well

I’ve heard that you have to soak the corn beef for a couple of days to get the salt out of it. Salt is hows it’s cured so it has to be soaked to pull the salt out.

Quang, remember all the times we requested for you to do Jiggs Dinner from Newfoundland?! Well this salt beef is what goes into the Jiggs Dinner. You don’t need a better supplier, you just need actual corned beef which can also be found in the Newfie shop right there in Edmonton as well! We’re still waiting on our Jiggs Dinner request btw! Your feast looked amazing to! We love you Quang 💜💙👌👌✅✅
