This is a spiritually powerful soup. I ate this soup for the first time in America and let me tell you that I slept soo deep and had some very vivid dreams. The way I slept after eating this soup. I've never slept that deep like that IN MY LIFE.... Nigerians call this Afang soup but I call this DREAM SOUP and BY FORCE, I'm going to learn how to make it. This soup is a healing soup.

We eat this in Cameroon too. We call it Eru. There's a slight difference with cooking method(we don't pound the Afang/eru leaves and we add water leaf when meat stock must have dried up but asides that every other thing is same and in cameroon this is one of best meals as well. Hard to see someone who doesnt love eru

@@jennywinny4066 you are right but onions are not part of the traditional list of ingredients for afang soup! You can use onions but it doesn’t taste same. I’ve done it both ways and I used to wonder why my afang doesn’t taste as good as the ones I eat in cross river state! Until a grandma told me not to use onions and the result was a lot better! Same with ogbono soup! Secret from my very one grandma not to use onions in making it. But I love onions in every other meal. Except these two soups

wow we cook something similar in Cameroon. It's called ERU; we don't pound the ukazi leaves, we cook in its diced form from the market. we cook with palm oil, water leaves, enough cray fish, cow hide just like this... so yummy.
