Looks great! One tip you might want to try is mixing the dry ingredients with the milk before adding the eggs. That will keep the dry ingredients from clumping up in the eggs.

Do you ever have issues with this burning the seasoning off the reverse side of the griddle? I finally added a reversible griddle to my camping cast iron collection, but now I'm trying to figure out how to do this without sooting out the reverse side of the griddle...

Just wanted to thank you for turning me on to that Seminole swamp seasoning. I love that stuff!!! This is going to sound crazy but I used it one day when I had some jalapeno margarita which was amazing instead of using sugar or salt on the rim, we actually used the seasoning and believe it or not it was a hit with everybody. One of my close friends is a bartender and she's going to be taking it to her restaurant/ bar to try out I'm telling you it's a great hit... not just with food. LOL!!!

Hey Backwoods, I have a weird question that nobody on Reddit seems to be able to answer. I would love to hear your thoughts. I bought an Ozark Trail griddle from Walmart a couple weeks ago. I have plenty of other cast iron, so I'm familiar with use and care. I gave it a quick seasoning with vegetable oil in the oven, then cooked some turkey bacon on it the next morning with no problems. I cleaned it up and then let it live in the bottom of the oven for a few days before I decided to give it another layer of seasoning. It stinks so bad when it heats up past 350-400. There's a heavy smoke coming off it (much thicker than normal veg oil past smoke point) that stinks like hot garbage and vomit together. It will stink the house out in a matter of seconds. I let it go on the grill at 700 degrees for several hours and the thing refuses to strip down to bare metal. There are still dark spots where something other than oil is burning. It took on this weird almost olive oil greenish tint after the last round of oil. I will not bring it back into the house at this point and I haven't cooked on it since the first time. Have you ever had a piece of cast iron do this?
@BackwoodsGourmetChannel4 жыл бұрын
Ozark Trail cast iron is made in China from recycled cast iron with lots of impurities.

What did you do with the left over french toast mix? I am wondering if ya left the cinnamon out and reduced the milk content you could use that mix for the eggs ya put on the sammich? You could always dust the top of the bread as soon as it hit the grill with the cinnamon? Your eggs would have the same flavor through out instead of that big nasty ball of yolk right in the centerLOL ( yea I don't like egg yolk) Good video!

No offense taken so there is nothing to forgive. I just wanted to let you know that our audience is vast, diverse and world wide. We try very hard to include folks from "first timers" thru "veterans". This channel is my passion and I read every comment on every video. I take that information and use it to develop the content on this channel. Sometimes it may seem elementary to some, but others discover new ways of cooking and join in to learn. Thanks for your comments.
