Looks great. I always sear both sides of my brisket before cooking it. I never even knew about brisket or are 1 til about 10 yrs ago&i fell in love lol I lived in a very small town growing up that only had a very small local grocery store&they never had anything like a brisket.

Thank you , i am cooking it now , the vinegar cloves and pepper fragrance just makes it much more than just plain corned beef . ive added some trips of pork rind to it as well just because there was hardly any fat on it cheers :-).

This helped me muchly. I have mine on now so classic me I go find a recipe once I've started cooking it! I shoved in a couple of cloves and a half tp of nutmeg (also good). Best served with white sauce and a sumptuous chardy :-) Good work though mate. Your bf is lucky to have you!!! xoxo

Is "silverside" beef that has already been corned (preserved in salt & spices for 5-7 days) before cooking; or is this purporting to be a method to corn a beef but it is actually just a slab of raw beef that has not been previously preserved using the actual corning method?

look I tried cooking the silverside in the fry pan filled with boiling water and I transfered the silverside into a large pot filled with boiling water. I have a 1.33 kg silver side to cook. the boiling water needs to be completely covered over the silver side . 2 hours I will try that ,thanks for the advice mate ;)

Can I ask a question? He says cook meat for 2hrs right. Then he puts in vegies with meat for another hour. If 2 hrs is enough time for cooking, wont cooking with vegies for another hour, dry out meat? Or maybe the 2 hours isnt long enough. Would love some advice. Thanks guys... x

You can do just 2 hours. Although a third is great for extra flavor. I do. Three hours in this video, using the extra hour to add the veggies. Let me know how you go.

I had a small one and cooked it for 2 hours then I checked it and it was still bright red inside I kept cooking it and boiling it and it was still red even after 3 hours it is still red I just don't get it I think there's something wrong with it and am now afraid to eat it

babushka poponick it's meant to be red inside. If you taste it and it's chewy, it needs to cook longer. If it practically melts in your mouth, it's cooked.
