Well here's one girl who won't argue with you about anything, Susan! I consider you the best authority on everything that grows or cooks, and a whole lot more. Thank you for another great lesson, friend.

@@lovemyfamily2480 It's really true. Susan is meticulous in her methods and her teaching. And the "Whole lot more" I referred to blows my mind. Look at such things as her self-made chicken house...done 100% on her own. Even t he carpenter men in my family were very impressed. It's the best one on KZbin! God Bless her!

I miss the good old days of youtube too when folks cooked with one hand and filmed with the other. Nowadays it's all slick productions with four people filming, a sound guy, a makeup artist, a writer, etc. Kinda discouraging when it's just plain old me. But I'll keep throwing out a video here and there whenever I can find time.

My mother makes a stringbean soup and this is really close. I've never seen or heard of anyone else making it.. might be Pennsylvania Amish. Fresh stringbeans, a whole pack of cooked bacon and all of it's fat, some flour mixed with the bacon grease and browned, and then cubed potatoes, and cubed ham. It's so good. I've not had success finding a good string bean to grow to match the store bought. Im going to see if i can find Fortex seeds online.
