Great recipe, I grew up eating beef kidneys and rice. We called it ‘shotgun stew’. We would fry the kidneys in a large skillet then add flour and beef stock to make a gravy and spoon it all over rice. It was great way to feed a large family on a cheap budget.

This is such an exquisite recipe! I make beef kidney in 20 mins in a skillet after 1 hr soak. My goal is to preserve as many nutrients as possible. I bet your recipe tastes way better than mine.

I just boil it with seasoning and 2 of my 3 kids love it so I guess thats worth something. I’ll try this vinegar idea But making it BBQ with sauce sounds good

“Mr Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowls. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast heart, liverslices fried with crustcrumbs, fried hencods' roes. Most of all he liked grilled mutton kidneys which gave to his palate a fine tang of faintly scented urine.” ― James Joyce, Ulysses

@@StrongSistas not too bad actually. No doubt tougher than your slow cook method but decent none the less. Just added salt while it was on there. Good for a few days of eating for me.

Hey Sistas!! 👋🏻 I’m not going to lie, that kidney scares me. I would eat it if you made it for me, but I’m not sure if I could do it on my own. 😂 Love ya!

Took a stab at cooking beef kidney using your video as a guide. Going the stew style with added fresh mint, rosemary, and some dried herbs of sage, thyme, and some garlic, and some leftover potato cubed. Not sure if I’ll make this again even if it’s delicious though, makes my kitchen smell like pee even after the soaking and a bit slow and tedious to prepare. Liked the price though.

questions: if you cook the kidneys or liver for so long, does it affects the nutrients? what about vitamins and minerals?

I fry Mine on high Heat for about three minutes total and take it off the heat. Vem är create whatevers to I want and then I put the kidney in and let simmer for the last five minutes comma so I don't cook my kidney very much and they are slightly Pink inside and very tender and full of nutrients. No need to cook at for that long! Save some electricity and nutrients and get a much more tender kidney. I too so get however Cut up in cubes in salt water with vinegar for about two hours, but I also keep the fat on since it's dence in nutrients, and good fat.

Hi. I think you should do a video about how to successfully reintroduce some foods again after carnivore diet. Safest and least toxic foods for most people, how much at the time, if we should take some supplements in the beginning of reintroducing foods and just tell us about your strategy overall so that more people hopefully can enjoy some other foods occasionally with success. I think many people would like to hear that even if most of our diet going to be ANIMAL-BASED💪🏼 Thank you.

Personally I prefer veal kidney (and liver), which is very easy and quick to prepare. I stir fry the pieces in lots of butter, add some stock to create a sauce, a lot of salt (to my taste 😊), pepper, often some tarragon, and sometimes a dash of whisky, gin or vodka. No squash nor apples, I prefer the stricter keto approach, and all that fiber could kill me. 🤣😉

I’ve noticed most of the small farms or butchers I go to don’t have kidney available, compared to the more popular organs: heart, liver or tongue. Do you know why this is? I don’t know why the abattoirs don’t provide them the kidneys. Also, I’ve noticed from many people’s recipes that I have read/watched, they usually try to remove the membrane from the kidneys and scrape off all the white stuff inside...is this absolutely necessary? Like is the wife stuff “indigestible”? I like to not waste anything, so I’m confused to why some people try so hard to remove the white stuff...isn’t the white stuff good for you? I’ve bought a bunch of lamb kidneys, Cant I just eat the whole thing?

I would rather drink the broth at the end which kidney is cooked in it and give the kidney to dogs. Bc I think most of the nutrients release in the broth during cooking.
